Zinnia's roommate from university. A revolutionary who holds a grudge against the military after her father died, as she believes it to be from an experiment gone wrong. She's a white hat hacker with a love of conspiracy theories, even though she doubts most of them.
PERSONALITY
On the surface, Bella is cheerful, energetic, and incredibly confident. Beneath that, though, lies a quiet, persistent anger with a strong sense of justice. Bella is quick to stand up for what is right, and will always put the people she loves ahead of herself. Instead of letting herself get depressed, she uses her anger to drive her forward, if only to spite those who would stop her. She places a lot of value in family and community, and often gets involved in event planning for them.

Bella is the only child to a single father, who was a soldier in the military - not out of any great patriotism, but to make use of the benefits. She was raised primarily by her aunt and uncle, as well as her grandparents, because of this. When he was home, though, he was gentle, kind, and incredibly loving, dedicating his time to her. When she was 14 and just beginning to come across various conspiracy theories online, she and her family had received notice that her father was MIA, presumed dead.
The details as to how this happened were obscured and they refused to give further details. This, coupled with Bella's research, led her to believe that he had been the subject of a military experiment gone wrong. She dedicated all her time to learn coding in order to become a hacker, which turned out to be not quite as glamorous or cool as movies made it out to be. Still, it's been a powerful tool for her that's allowed her to get access to information unavailable to the public. By the end of high school, she managed to figure out who was likely running these experiments - Lily Welkin, current secretary of the army. Since then, Bella has had a vendetta against her, gathering as much information as possible in order to expose her.
She was accepted into the same university as Zinnia, and went there because it was close to home. As roommates, they slowly became unexpectedly close, opening up about their childhoods. It's complicated things a bit for Bella, muddling her once concrete goal, but she continues to work towards it regardless.
Zinnia and Bella started as roommates at university and grew closer over the course of the year, each becoming a person of comfort to the other. They finally cross the line from friendship to romance when Bella comes to stay at the old house to support Zinnia.
When Bella comes to stay and help Zinnia after her grandmother's death, she and Bast inevitably become entangled with their same deep affection for Zinnia and growing attraction to each other. Though they aren't as open with each other as they are with Zinnia, their side of the polyamorous triangle has developed more slowly, naturally, and healthily.
Bella's sworn enemy. She seeks revenge on her, believing Lily to have experimented on and killed her father. Her goal of exposing Lily has been somewhat muddled by her relationship with Zinnia, but not something she's at all willing to give up on.
