Raptor

Once upon a time a morally gray lab in their world created a teleporter and released it for public use. After a while the users started mutating into savage monsters and then they realized that the teleporter was malfunctioning. The lab collected all of the people who used the teleporter and exiled them on their old testing site which was a small island, while they will work on the meds. Raptor and his sister Avery were among those people. They both missed their parents but they were sticking together most of the time and supported each other. On the island Raptor met a lot of other mutated people. He had a lot of respect for Louis. He was the one who made Raptor’s spear weapon which he uses to this day. After a while though, Raptor started noticing his mutation not only physically but mentally as well. He started losing count, forgetting words or sentences, not being able to focus, and eventually his brain got completely fried. Mentally, he became a child. Then he started to get along with Uranium, who showed the same symptoms a bit earlier. Raptor also developed some kind of deep hatred for seagulls, which he regularly hunts down with his spear. The others don't mind though, since it was one of the main sources of food on the island.

A year later one of the survivors contacted the lab and arranged a trade with the lab. The lab demanded one of the island people - Aurum who had gold growing on his body to come with them to be tested on, and in exchange they would give them mutation slowing meds. Aurum escaped from the lab but brought back a scientist who was kind enough to duplicate the meds from the sample that they got from the trade earlier.

Another year passed and a stranger named Kell came to the island looking for his friend - Louis. Kell wanted to illegally bring Louis back to the city, but Louis only agreed on the condition that Kell will help all of the island people get back as well. After they got back to the city they had no choice but to live in the part of the city that was basically ruled by bandits. These bandits also stole the teleporter which was used to bring them back to the city. Island people tried to get the teleporter back from the bandits which resulted in a fight which resulted in teleporter exploding and spreading the mutation radiation to the whole city. After that the lab was forced to finish meds that will stop the mutation completely and all the island people were allowed to come back to live in the city. Raptor was then hired as a waiter in a fast food place.
