A protective guardian of his own graveyard property, Elijah watches over the Dead and Undead buried or roaming on his grounds, ensuring that their remains stay safe and respected. Sometimes caskets, half-baked and damaged, get leakage and cracks, while deadly insects and fungus eat at the Undead's rotting bodies; as their guardian, he fights such adversaries off. Though usually easy, there are occasionally tough foes who have enough energy to intrude and make attempts to possess a few of the Undead for their private armies. He has taken some of their lives and repossessed their armies, but a handful did manage to get away with their crimes.

Cheerful, extroverted, sociable, generous, inquisitive, scatterbrained, impulsive.

Joyful and peppy, Elijah is not one to sit around sulking about things not going his way for long. One moment he may be praying with a solemn air over a gloomy pile of dirt, giving his respect and strength to a deceased too frail and injured to move, and the next moment he will be on his feet chatting the neighbor's head off with nonsensical ramblings. Because he talks about whatever comes to mind, and isn't one to hold back for fear of anything, he doesn't have much of a filter at all.

He often fantasizes and dreams of his own imaginary scenarios in order to appear interesting, so he tries not to pay much attention to the judgment of others, projecting a level of eccentricity and self-absorption as a result. Not many can withstand his enthusiasm or conversational energy, so those that know him don't try to get close or reciprocate. His lack of observational practice of living people leaves him bereft in certain skills, but it doesn't matter to him as he holds only importance in his deep-rooted intuition to help him protect the deceased. His job is very important to him because only he can see and feel the emotions and grievances of the dead. He uses his occupational experiences to fill up his loneliness and passion for learning, so that he could pass their stories on and keep their names alive, long after they die.
