Initially, Kitty thought that Zuzu city was her calling... but after being the recipient of her grandfather's farmhouse, numerous contracts fell through - including one at Joja working on their advetising campaign. Despite this, she held on, leading her to become detached, distant and ultimately, on a one way trip to Stardew Valley to take up the farm... Whilst she dives deep into her artwork, cheesy romance stories and development of the farm, could the valley be the true calling for Kitty all this time?

Kitty is a villager who lives on the farm. She is a self insertion of the player, and follows a lot of the farmer's role closely.

Whilst a lot of the content on this page assumes Kitty as an NPC, this isn't entirely accurate - she's meant to be the player after all! Which means she gets to do all the self indulgent bullshit because yeah.

Personality

When Kitty first came to the valley, she was seldom seen outside of the farm - only ever leaving to either buy seeds from Pierre's General Store, or wandering aimlessly trying to "figure something out", as she would describe it to fellow villagers. If there's one thing she hates, it's letting other people down and will often go out of her way to ensure people aren't upset with her. From accepting quests from other people, forcing herself to attend festivals or just letting people strike up a conversation, Kitty has always struggled with being rather timid and soft. It's part of the reason why she couldn't help but work on some of the graphic design for Joja - besides, a job is a job, isn't it? It's not always going to be forever, at least that's what Kitty had first hoped when she initially started... thank goodness that contract ended up falling through...

When compared her to some of the more outlandish elements of the valley, Kitty is incredibly grounded, often trying to see things through a realistic perspective. Whilst she was sceptical of the concept of forest spirits residing in the old community centre or the mere existence of a wizard living in the forest, Kitty is usually fairly considerate of these possibilities - though often assumes that such things aren't real. A mistake on her part, of course, but over time Kitty's just learnt to accept these options as being part of the valley's charm. If anything, she finds these things rather endearing, and will often at least try to understand it from a logical standpoint. Of course, not everything has to be explained, a fact which Kitty will often struggle with.

Outside of her farm work, you can often see Kitty either fishing on the beach, or skimming through one of her old favourite books. It feels as if she hasn't picked up a pencil since leaving the city, often avoiding the craft altogether, despite mentioning about how much she enjoys it. At least she greatly enjoys fishing, an activity she can spend hours concentrating on. Sometimes some of the villagers worry about the amount of time she spends on the beach, patiently waiting on the fish to bite, but to Kitty? Well, she never really got to experience the ocean much growing up, yet always had a soft spot for it. It's a task she's more than happy to constantly work away at - even at the loss of countless hours of sleep...

Relationships

Kitty often keeps to the farm and tends to avoid interacting no more than she needs to. However, over time, she slowly integrates into the community and open up more with them. Whilst she still remains fairly introverted, she gets on incredibly well with the majority of the residents, as she doesn't like to argue or upset others. She would rather ensure others are happy than call them out for their actions.

Some of the standout relationships with the townsfolk include:

Elliott [Wiki Link]

Due to spending a lot of her time at the beach fishing, it was inveitable that Kitty and Elliott would end up crossing paths. Multiple times. Of course, one particular instance involed Kittyh on the docks whilst Elliott was trying to find inspiration... noticing her concentration, it sparked an idea, which caused him to start scribbling down in his notepad... and that also caught Kitty's attention.

That's when Kitty learnt Elliott was an aspiring writer. Their friendship was practically sealed at that point - given that they both had a rather creative background, and always hung around the beach.

Of course their backgrounds seemed to line up... almost perfectly. Both had ultimately left home to pursue their own personal careers and refused to go back, the only difference was that Kitty thought her answer was in the city, whilst Elliott felt his was in the valley. However, Kitty slowly began to realise that she actually enjoyed life on the farm a lot more. Exploring the landscape, getting deep into her work... meeting Elliott...

Yeah, she ended up falling HARD for him. At that point, she did something she could only dream to do - that was to take initative. Probably the scariest thing she had ever done at that point. But, with how Kitty realised she had always been passive and somehow had things always work out, unlike Elliott who intentionally forced himself through his writing. She admired his perserverance, resillence and well... he certainly had a way with words that caused Kitty to get flustered numerous times.

Little did Kitty know that the writer also found her inspiring.

So when Kitty eventually got the guts to offer him a bouqet... well, he couldn't refuse, could he?

Eventually the pair do marry when Kitty finally gets her hands on a mermaid's pendant for him. Elliott ends up moving in on the farm with her. Kitty loves nothing more than hearing her partner read and seeing his career take off makes Kitty so proud of him. Eventually, Kitty slowly gets back into her own creative work, and even helps out with some some illustrations for some of his books. It's certainly a quiet, peaceful life the pair have together on the farm... but they wouldn't trade it for the world... or an iridium bar. or 10 iridium bars. or even-

Trivia

  • In response to Elliott's four heart event, Kitty literally sat there in silence after he ordered her a wine. Partly because of his bold and abrupt delcaration, but also because the act... might have caused Kitty to get a little bit flustered.
    • This event has caused a bet between some of the townfolk as to who get with their "crush" first - Kitty or Clint. Spoilers - Clint is absolutely useless.
  • You want to break Kitty? Use words. Kitty's naturally not great with her words, but gets flustered over romantic, sappy exchanges from a partner. Fortunately, Elliott has this nailed down. Of course, Kitty is very easily won over simply by calling her "darling", "love" or "dear", but with Elliott... she can get a little overwhelmed sometimes.
  • Kitty can't stand Cave Flies. It's the sound, she can't stand the sound of buzzing insects and it's entirely possibly for her to get overwhelmed from the sound alone. It's the biggest factor preventing her from enjoying spring and summer to it's fullest.
  • Kitty has been known to have quite an interesting range of romance novels that she enjoys. Some of the highlights include Thorns, a romantic suspense novel where seamstress ended up falling in love with a criminal, and his criminal family forbids their love, leading her to become involved in the criminal underworld, and The Patchwork Jewels, a fantasy series which involves a maiden and sorcrer eloping together to travel the world... and maybe falling in love on the way.
    • Kitty has absolutely introduced Elliott to some of her favourites. He was a bit... taken aback by some of the content, and probably wouldn't consider them to be impressive by any means. However, he knows they mean a lot to Kitty, and acknowledges that well, they are well written and popular for a reason. They're just not for him, personally.
  • Kitty can sometimes get quite... unhinged during her skull cavern dives. Or just exploring caves in general. For some reason, her cave explorations can cause a large fluctuation in her mood and cause her to get even more disorganised, constantly ramble away, and even act a little wild, a large contrast to her timid and soft personality. She has a sword, and she is not afraid to use it.
  • Marnie gave her a grey tabby cat she calls Pickle. Ironically, Kitty is not a fan of pickles, it's just he likes hiding in preserve jars, and Jelly didn't quite roll of the tongue as a name. It's also the only name he responds to.
