Alice is a nurse who works at a small hospital. She’s deadpan to the point of seeming cold, but don't let that fool you into thinking she doesn't care. In fact, she usually expresses her affection by scolding or worrying. She favors isolation by nature and tends to live in her head. Alice likes reading, houseplants, and the color purple. She does not like sleeping. She is Jax's older stepsister.
Alice comes across as cold or emotionless to strangers. She has a naturally deadpan face, and tends not to take shit, so she can seem indifferent, if not callous. When angry, she acts sarcastic and bitter. When sad, she acts distant and frigid. At a glance, she is brusque and impersonal, so many take it to mean that she is cold-hearted as well. This is not the case at all.
Alice's virtues only truly reveal themselves once you get to know her. Otherwise, she does what she needs to get her job done, no more, no less. To those she knows at likes, she is kind, forgiving, and a good listener.
She tends to fall into the comforter mode rather than the comforted. She grew up mothering Jax for most of their childhood and finds it hard to break that role, even though they are both grown up. In all fairness, Jax is not particularly good at taking care of himself. Although her protective qualities are by no means inherently bad, they can end up taking a toll on her. She tends to spread herself thin, or push her own needs to the back in order to take care of others. Because of her understated nature, however, few people tend to even realize how much she puts herself through.
- First Aid: Alice is a nurse, and as such is adept at giving medical aid.
- Death Glare (Jax-specific): Using her baleful gaze, she is pretty much one of the only people who can reliably guilt/shame Jax into doing anything.
- Not A Fighter: Alice is very bad at hand-to-hand combat. She's short and not particularly strong nor skilled. Her best bet is to avoid one-on-one physical fights in the first place.

Alice is heavyset and broad-shouldered. She has olive skin and dark brown hair. Her eyes are brown and hooded, giving her a tired or sad expression. Her hair is very curly, about a 3b hair type.
demeanor
Alice dresses primarily for comfort: t-shirts, sweaters, jeans, sneakers. Her colors of choice are dark neutrals. Her hair is usually tied back in pigtails or a ponytail.
Alice's parents got divorced when Alice was a toddler. Her father wasn't interested in custody, so her mother Vanessa raised her alone until she got remarried to Miles Donovan when Alice was eleven. Alice wasn't thrilled with the change, but she wasn't angry about it, either. Her mother had always had a rotating cast of boyfriends, so in a way this was preferable, since at least it was stable. She also got a sibling out of it-- a scrawny boy named Jackson, which she shortened to Jax.
As a kid, Alice was very bookish, spending more time with books than with her peers. She was never squeamish. Whenever Vanessa got cosmetic surgery, Alice would ask to see the bruising and the swelling, because she was fascinated by the healing process. When she first met Jax, he was determinedly peeling a massive scab off his knee. She asked him why and he replied, "I wanna see how much it bleeds." Alice knew then that they were kindred spirits.
