Born with a chronic illness, "Ezra" has not had much experience with the world. He spent a majority of his childhood in the cult, and in and out of the hospital with only his sister, "Zinnia" and uncle, Marcello, by his side. He was unable to socialize with other children and found joy reading books or playing chess with himself. With loneliness came resentment towards his father, Melchiore, who would rarely visit him. In those times he would visit, verbal fights would turn physical. "Ezra" slowly began to feel inferior to those around him; those who could enjoy life to the fullest.

As "Ezra" grew older, he spent less time in the hospital and more time with his uncle and sister. Nonetheless, he continued to isolate himself, surrounding himself with knowledge rather than love. Because of past trauma, he quickly began to look down on those who looked down on him until he completely, emotionally locked himself away from the world.
