RE

RE, a kid born nearly blind to a family of poor miners, was sold off at a relatively young age as a slave soldier. 

His eyes are just about useless, he 'sees' out of the pink sensors under his eyes. He lost his arm in battle and got it replaced with a relatively low tech robotic replacement. 

In a relationship with Johnthaniel, also studying him like a bug. Putting him under a microscope. The progression of their relationship went as follows:

• Johnthaniel has his accident, which results in small anomalies and marks being left all over time and space
• RE Discovers these anomalies, driving him to become a scientist and investigate what might be causing them
• RE is essentially hunting bigfoot, no one else believes the anomalies are connected
• Johnthaniel believes he is being chased by some sort of time police, actively covers his trail
• Their first few meetings are fights or altercations full of miscommunication
• Eventually RE convinces him to be studied, just a little
• This is the first person who has sympathized w Johnthaniel in a long time, only one who actually UNDERSTANDS what is wrong with him, even if he can't relate
• Johnthaniel decides to stick around a while, they become friends
• Eventually they fall for each other
• Eventually, Johnthaniel realizes he will not age, and RE will
• And so sadnesses occur
