About

Juni is a very hardworking young woman dedicated to restoring her family's honor and credibility within their small, poor community located in the grand city of Synthasia. She believes in honest work and is very compassionate to her peers, and loyal to her family. She's an empathetic, extremely emotional person who won't think twice about rushing in the second she sees someone in need of help, especially if that someone happens to be in a weaker position than she is. Sadly, her willingness to help and her self-sacrificial nature make her somewhat naive and easy to take advantage of. She is rather indecisive and doesn't seem to have a lot of confidence of her own, so she tends to seek strong, assertive people to hang on to, not realizing that sometimes those kind of people might not have the best intentions.

Ever since she was a child, Juni has always been the restless. anxious type who has trouble sitting still doing nothing. She needs something to do to distract herself, or she just won't stop worrying as long as there's something to worry about; and boy, isn't there always something. She prefers working to a plan, and doesn't take sudden changes or surprises very well; she reacts strongly whenever she is thrown for a loop.

Juni never had much time for fun hobbies when she was younger, being the eldest child of a poor Synthasian shoemaker family that was just doing their best to get by, but she did pick up archery when she was ten and started training with a simple, easy-to-use bow. Her parents were very supportive about it and didn't seem to mind that their daughter decided she'd become a hunter one day. Overall, despite the poverty, the area they lived in formed a nice, close-knit community where no one was left alone.

When Juni was sixteen, she and her siblings learned their parents had resolved to earn some extra money for the family - and for the chronically ill Zuri's medical treatment - in rather questionable ways; by reporting their own acquaintances and even friends to the higher ups, with claims of tax evasions and such. The first couple of times their plans had actually worked due to the couple only basing their claims on actual evidence, but after getting more careless and falsely accusing someone, the investigation turned up nothing and the suspicion was cast on the informers instead.
Until that point, the couple had managed to conduct everything in secret, but once Allen was thrown in jail for the fraud, the information quickly spread within the community. With her father imprisoned and all this newly found information, Juni, her mother and siblings all realized they had no one to turn to anymore; all the trust and respect everyone once had for them was gone.

It didn't take long for Juni to join a local hunting group to help her family get by, but even with her best efforts, the family couldn't afford to get Zuri the treatment he required, and seven-year-old boy died before the end of the year, with his one-year-old sister Alita following him soon. For the longest time, everything seemed grim for the family, but with combined efforts they somehow pulled through.

Years passed, and Juni kept working with the hunter group and grew to enjoy her job, no matter how dangerous it was at times. Her father was never released from jail, and he simply withered away in silence without ever seeing his family again. Even after his death, most community members wanted nothing to do with the lapine family that had once betrayed them, and even the hardworking Juni was kept close watch on at all times.

As if life wasn't difficult and stressful enough as it was, what with a sudden war breaking out and ending with the royal family's murder, Juni's family lost another working member when her then 19-year-old sister Lainey decided to run away and get married to a noble from a faraway city, leaving her struggling family behind without a second thought. This was yet another huge setback for the family that had recently started getting back to their feet, financially speaking, so all they could do was work twice as hard and place their hopes on the newly crowned rulers to at least try and make things better for all of Synthasia. Of course, it all turned out to be wishful thinking, and nothing really changed as far as their neighborhood was concerned.

Then, another harsh year later, Juni was suddenly approached by one of the people she knew to be rather influential in the area. He had a "huge job opportunity" for her; to assassinate the crown prince of the current royal family. Despite it obviously being a very bad idea and possibly even a trap, after some persuasion and promises of a good pay and everyone accepting her family again, the lapine agreed to take the job. Killing monsters has been her job for the past seven years anyway, and considering how badly the new rulers have treated their people so far - at least from her point of view - they just have to be some kind of monsters, right? No big deal getting rid of yet another monster, right?

WRONG! Because Juni is a fucking crybaby, she ends up failing and hoo boy, if that isn't the start of a great adventure full of all kinds of wonderful bullshit
