Most people see Marlon as respectable but strange, and possibly intimidating; generally she appears calm and collected, but her interests and dress sense are considered eccentric by many. In actuality, she has a hard time making deeper bonds with other people (and an unemotive face) and distances herself from most, particularly in more formal settings. In settings like bars and parties she'll usually talk casually with others, perhaps even flirt a little, but still she spaces herself from people. Occasionally she has been known to attract admirers, but she isn't interested in actually dating men, and finds it difficult to talk to women she finds attractive, especially if they show interest in her.
She isn't stupid, but can be a little naive, partially due to general apathy. Sometimes she makes bad decisions because she doesn't care enough about the outcome. Still, she does find joy in things like movies, her collection of preserved things, and especially music. A small part of her knows she'll probably never achieve her dreams of stardom, especially in the modern era, but she stubbornly clings to her ideal.
Her morals tend to be more "live and let live", she will ignore questionable things if she doesn't think, or doesn't want to think, it will harm anyone.

Marlon is a real Blitz Kid. Well actually, not really. It's not 1981 anymore, for starters. Still, she loves fashion, music, and all-night parties, and she's just waiting for her record deal. After she fixes the issue of not actually having a band or any real musical skill to speak of; she can sing well enough, and likes writing lyrics, but needs a partner who can compose and play music.
Until then she works as a secretary while studying accounting. She always had a knack for mathematics and bureaucracy, and while not always the most practical person she still thought a useful degree was worth pursuing (even if she deferred for a couple of years before starting it).
Her secretarial job is at a small genetic clinic, and her boss is a bit strange and possibly even suspicious, but she does her job (though with bare minimum effort) and never asks questions so he likes her just fine. She has some inkling he's probably up to something, but since it doesn't affect her directly she chooses to ignore it.
