We do not imprison the spring because the winter was harsh. The children are the only part of this world I haven't had to harden. Keep them out of the mud, or I will put you in it.

ABOUT

Chapter One

Growing up, Elke's foundation wasn't laid in a home, but rather in a fortress. Raised within the strict confines of a militarized German state, her childhood was a study in discipline rather than affection. With loosing her mother to a disease during her infancy, Elke was left to be molded by a father who viewed parenthood through a command structure. He acted more like a drill sergeant rather than a caregiver, only rewarding her results while remaining cold to her emotional needs. In this environment, Elke has learned the ultimate law:

Power is the only currency of survival.

Being thrust into the chaos of war as a Sani, and working within the Nachschub, balancing the duty of a battlefield medic with the logistics of moving ammunition and rations, she saw the world's machinery at its most brutal. It was here where she hardened, trading her innocence for a survivor's edge. Yet, amidst the grit of the war, she maintained her hair long as a silent, waist-length rebellion - her only physical link to a time before the war began..

Chapter Two

The death of her father remains a mystery; although officially "fallen in service," there are whispers of internal purges and political traps that followed his casket to the grave. However, his passing did not grant Elke freedom, but rather it made her determined to never be a victim of a chaotic system. She rose through the ranks with a punctuality that was frightening - never a minute late, even in mourning - until she established her own empire, of which is now known as:

The Reichsjäger

Under Elke's command, the Reichsjäger operates on a grim, yet practical philosophy: "One silent removal is preferable to ten thousand dead." She views the world as a contagious outbreak of violence that needs to be contained. At her flank to assist her are her hounds: Falken, and Eber, whom help her lead with an uncompromising hand. While she resents the brutal system, she chooses to lead to keep order, ensuring the next generation is protected from the violent machinery of war. As a result of this, she has instated strict protocols regarding the treatment of children, and the immediate restoration of infrastructure in any region she pacifies.

However, even at the height of her power, she remains haunted by the phantom of her fathers dissaproval - a lingering chill that keeps her spine straight, and her heart guarded.

LIKES

DISLIKES
  • Mud, or any form of filth
  • Insolence
  • Crying
TRIVIA
  • She is accompanied by her two dogs, who are both named after animals: Falken (Falcon), and Eber (Boar); while Falken is alert and calculating, and Eber is aggresive and forward, both are strictly trained to sit or lay in the presence of children so as to not startle or frighten them.
  • Elke believes that children are the "one true blameless population", instating standing orders that would have orphaned children in pacified regions be relocated rather than imprisoned, and having schools be amongst the first infrastructres that her forces restore.
  • Her hair's extreme length is a physical tether to the few happy moments in her youth, specifically the memory of having her hair brushed as a small child, refusing to cut it as a way to hold on to that lost sense of peace.
  • Driven through an intense internal discipline, Elke has never been late a single day in her life to any meeting, gathering, or function; a record that she has maintained even through the period of grief immediately following her father's death.
  • Although she leads the Reichsjäger with her one silent over a thousand dead philosophy, she secretly hates the brutal world that requires such a system to begin with, fueled by the lingering feeling of her father's spectral disapproval.
