Profile
Powers / Abilities:
Invisibility
Akora has the ability to turn up to half of her body invisible at any given time. She doesn't do this incredibly often, only when she's feeling awkward or nervous. When these feelings occur, she tends to make her upper body invisible. This ability replaces her common inkdrian ability of melanokinesis
Hydrokinesis
Akoya has some skills in hydrokinesis, or the ability to move water. Its a tremendous help in the fishing prospect, and Akora doesn't use it for much else. The ability is excessive and accquires her full attention to use
Water Tolerance
Unlike a majority of inkdrian, who are deathly allergic to water, Akoya doesn't appear to be affected by it
Hair that Glows
A common ability of Inkdrians, they're hair constantly glows in a somewhat weak light. Akoya has no control of when this happens or its strengths, however, she is used generally as a night light by her "older" siblings
Current Living:
Akoya lives with a small family of oyster farmers down in the southern coast of mobius. Though her arrival was a bit of suprise to the mobians, they she immediately accepted as their family. They live off the coast of the ocean in a small weathered house, cozy, but not uncomfortable. She goes out when them everyday to care for the oysters and hunt their pearls. She has attempted a few times to help make jewelery, but has not grasped the concept yet due to her blindness. Her family loving call her the "oyster-whisperer" because she can always seem to tell which oysters are have pearls just by touching them.
The shack is in the outskirts of a town that is famous for their pearl jewelry, and has become a bit of a tourist trap because of the trade.
Allegiance: Neutral
History:
Akoya's life started out as a faint drip of ink from the Dreamweaver. However, instead of landing on a specific plant, it landed in the water instead where it was soon engulfed by a oyster. Once the ink settled in the mouth of the oyster and its surrounding pearls, causing Akora to begin growing inside.
The growth of the ink caused this oyster in particular to mutate and grow to an enormous size, much to the suprise of the pearl farmers that raised the animal. Once they were sure that the oyster had stopped growing, they fished it out immediately, suspecting there was a large pearl or something of incredible value inside. To their surprise, there was a inkdrian girl inside, in bedded with pearls and giving off a light glow inside the animal, she was promptly "rescued" soon after.
After finding her approiate clothing, the family decided to adopt Akoya, naming her after the species of oyster she was born from. She didn't seem to understand the ways of the world just yet, and seeming to let her off on her own seemed a bit too cruel at the time. Akoya now has been living with the family for two years, and has used her gifts to help the pearl fishing business.
Personality
Akoya is a bit of a quiet wallflower, and somewhat of a pushover. She's friendly, but doesn't speak much and doesn't have the qualities of a leader. Instead, she'll happy follow along with someone else. She's not very good at speaking her mind, and ends up getting somewhat tongue tied, around strangers. This in turn causes her to get somewhat nervous and use her invisibility to literally hide her face. She doesn't have this issue around her adopted family, though it can sometimes happen with friends of the family.
Akoya does have a soft spot for things with texture. Because of her blindness, she has to rely on her family and her sense of touch to get around, and gets immediately curious when something just feels nice. She tends to get a bit hansy when she wants to figure out something, but she doesn't mean any ill will.
She does have a small habit of just taking things she likes the feel of and keeping them in her room. It isn't too much of an issue most days, but the family has to make sure she doesn't accidentally rob a store because she doesn't realize where she is. If the event it does happen she immediately returns it, and profusely apologizes, turning half invisible in the process to hide her shame.
