Ruta Deiryme

Max's adoptive little brother, and quite the handful. Alarmingly intelligent and being good with his hands usually leads to something exploding on a good day, and not even on purpose. He's studying to be an engineer after his adoptive father encouraged him to use his skills from thieving for something more fulfilling, and enjoys the thought of being able to fix things for the greater good.

Ruta is a naturally curious boy, and that's not only because he's young; coming from a survival-based lifestyle to a more peaceful lifestyle, he's very interested in how the world works when it's not always on the cusp of war. He's very friendly and loves to talk to people, but isn't the best at reading the room; his brain-to-mouth filter is non-existent, and he believes 'tact' is a kind of food. While his intelligence is high, he's not immune to doing some very dumb things.
