Katrina Nottingham "Knotts"
A year or so younger than Iris Rue, Forest Point's local fiddler. She's starry-eyed for the navy and the promise it brings.
Just before the start of the war, she is stolen during the raids by slavers, only for the slave ship to be destroyed a little ways off the coast by Laurence Gladia's flagship and the slaves freed.
She spends the Civil War serving in Floria's Navy on the flagship, and is thrown overboard when it is captured.
She returns to Forest Point to find that while she was out fighting the fight, back home the world was ending. The only friends left to greet her are Iris Rue and Forrest Hawthorne, and they two are much changed.
She is Alexander Nottingham's adoptive mother, and she teaches him the fiddle. He plays on one of her fiddles.
