Raymond is a fan character appearing in the Hazbin Hotel universe. He is Carmilla's adopted son.
Raymond has a semi humanoid impish appearance, with pinkish red skin and white hair that spikes up. He has neon blue-green teeth and heterochromia, a massive difference in both his eyes: his right eye has red scelera and a white iris, while the other has lime-green sclera with pinkish-red iris, both with slitted black pupils straight horns. He has white spots and scars around his body - more specifically on his face, arms, legs and tail which also has dark markings, as well as white fading on the tips of his fingers. He wears a white and gray shirt of which the sleeves are rolled up, with a small chest pocket, carmine red shorts surrounded by a black belt, and black boots. Some of his hands are dark, in a pattern similar to fingerless gloves. He carries his tools in a brown bag. He's often seen with a mask similar to Carmilla's, though he wasn't born with it.
Raymond was a curious guy since he was a child. Outgoing and talkative, he loves socializing with others and gush about his family. A sweet man that's very hard to anger despite his Wrathian descent. However, he's very sensitive, easily taking things to heart and being upset if wronged. He's also somewhat of a crybaby, whether it's a happy or sad occasion. He thinks he's weak, but that's because he still didn't find his strength, self-confidence and full potential.
Raymond was born in the Wrath ring and raised in the Pride ring. He has little to no memories of his days in his hometown. All he remembers was the few times he went to the circus in which Fizzarolli and Blitzo used to perform at, and other few minor situations as he was just a baby. His family moved out when he was a toddler.
He witnessed most exterminations as a kid, but he was safe in the comfort of his home and was often unharmed. Until one specific day in which his home was unfortunately destroyed, forced to be out without a shelter or a safe place to hide in. He and his parents were running all over the place, trying to escape the chaos and keep each other safe. However, they ended up being cornered in an alleyway, with no way out. Raymond managed to hide upon his parents' command seconds before an exorcist showed up, and so he did. Poking his head out of his hiding spot at a horrible timing, he witnessed his only family getting mercilessly murdered. He could not move, he could not run up to them, he could not scream, he could only watch in horror and silent tears. But once the extermination was over, and seeing all angels returning to Heaven, he was able to leave his hiding spot.
Crying on his beloved parents' lifeless bodies, his tears meshing with the blood. He begged and yelled for them to come back to life, of course to no avail. But such screams could be heard nearby, and it caught someone's attention. He soon felt a certain presence behind him, and turned to find two demons - one with a clipboard in hand, and the other holding angelic weapons. He backed away out of fear, unsure if they meant harm or not, but soon he saw someone else walking up behind the group, her shoes clinking with each steps. He recognized her; Carmilla Carmine, one of the overlords, top weapon dealer in hell. It took him a little prying and comfort to trust that they won't hurt him. Her motherly instincts kicking in, she could not leave a poor orphan alone, so she decided to bring him home with her to tend to his wounds. Initially supposed to be temporary, she ended up adopting him as her own son.
During his time in the Carmine family, Carmilla strived to keep him safe and sound either at home or in her office. Eventually, he reached an age in which she allowed him to leave and go outside, but only under his sisters' supervision, who were also as protective as their mother. He'd often get mocked for saying he's Carmilla's mother, due to his majorly impish appearance and massive physical difference.
Once an adult, he finally gained a bigger freedom and currently works in the Carmine Industry as a repairman, in the company and for other clients as well. Aside from his home, he's often seen at the Hazbin Hotel and the V Tower.
* Carmilla Carmine
His mother - he refers to her as "mamá". He looks up to her, often praising her to other people he'd meet. He's very thankful to her for saving him and bringing him with her at his weakest point of his life. She also teaches him how to fight and ballet as well.
* Odette Carmine
His sister. He admires her brains and loves her, but has a slight fear of annoying her with really anything - he feels like they're somewhat polar opposites, so he tries to limit his energy around her as to not bother her so much. His nickname for her is "Odie".
* Clara Carmine
His other sister. He's closer to her than he is with Odette, mostly because she's more chill and easy-going so he doesn't feel scared of "being too much" around her.
* Velvette
While he admires her fashion and style, he usually tries to avoid her. He thinks she's "mean", "scary" and "evil". They're not very close, but she's willing to give him advice to be more confident. However, her bluntness often bothers and offends him.
* Ethan
His crush in denial. Mostly one-sided due to Raymond's fear of getting into a relationship. Still, it's obvious there's something going on between the two, and yet Raymond keeps friendzoning him or leaving as soon as he spots him.
* Fizzarolli
His older cousin. They used to be close when very young, often showing up to watch his performance with Blitzo at the circus and spending time with him in his freetime, until the fire incident happened. To this day, Raymond's convinced Fizzarolli died in it, and he mourned his loss.
* Viola Carmine (OC)
His niece. While very awkward around her and kids in general, he still loves her immensely and cares deeply about her. He is quite protective of her, however - he'd hate to see his precious little niece get hurt, and also careful with her relationship-wise.
- His name is inspired by Prince Florimund, a main character in Tchaikovsky's ballet "The Sleeping Beauty" - more specifically the "rimund" part.
- His mask is makeup done by Clara, to mimic his mother's.
- He learns how to walk on the tip of his toes like his family, but often stumbles.
- He was taught Spanish and, while not fluent, he speaks it well and is understandable.
- He is currently learning ballet and self-defense with Carmilla.
- On his phone, he has Carmilla, Odette and Clara's contacts respectively saved as "mamá <3", "odie!!" and "clarinette".
- One of his biological parents is an imp, technically making him a half-imp hybrid. He had a succubus ancestor too, which explains his humanoid build.
- Despite being a hellborn demon, Raymond cannot reproduce. He cannot have sex, either.
