Once many years ago, long past what is remembered, a child had wandered too far into the woods ignoring their parents warning and in an accident as they played along a crumbling cottage, fell and broke their leg. Crying for help and unable to escape their newfound prison, they eventually passed on. Time passed, and a rose began to entangle the bones of the former child. Soon, they formed a structure and streched and shifted, growing and amassing into what became the rosacephalic known as Octavian.

Reality hitting and the view of the woods returning to them, they woke in the winter, confused and lost. Having no memory of who they were or are, only that they existed, they made it to a nearby town and after some tense and stressful years, had learned to understand sign language, and gesture themself. Delving into architecture and having a deep love for botany helped them make a place in the human run society. Living in a comfortable house near the woods, he lives his new life and often helps at the local colleges and libraries.

Due to realizing that he can harm people if touched the wrong way, he is a bit wary of physical contact and nervous when you get too close to him. Very shy and quiet, often not even signing much, he is however very friendly to those he finds to be good company. It takes a lot to make him dislike you, as he is very forgiving and kind hearted.

During winter and colder seasons, his body hardens to an almost chitin consistency and seems to shrivel slightly, his beatiful rose head losing petals until the skull of a child is all that is left, tangled in vines and thorns, with glowing yellow eyes. This doesn't alter his personality at all, and he often wears scarves during this time to hide himself. When spring comes, his body returns back to normal and he even gets a bit less lethargic with his new energy boost. The rose itself changes colour every now and again as the petals fall and regrow, so he can be seen in a multitude of colours
