While Irwin may be unordinary for a human, he’s still a living being that thinks and breathes. Irwin is incredibly awkward and can’t socialize to save his life. He has autism, anxiety, and ocd on top of it. He has an obsessive personality and relies heavily on his own set routines. He can’t stand physical contact from anyone unless he really likes them, and even then, he’s a bit hesitant. However, he’s also touch starved, which makes for a weird predicament. He tends to hold people’s forearms and doesn’t notice until it’s too late, which makes him greatly embarrassed and ashamed. His red scarf is very important to him, and he hardly ever takes it off. He’s incredibly insecure over his face, so his mask stays on 24/7. He has a bad habit of smashing mirrors and reflective surfaces if he ever sees his face in them. He also suffers from bad anger issues. Things like plants dying, his clothes getting dirty, or falling out of routine cause him to get immensely stressed out and angry.

Despite his bad past and fear of connecting with people, Irwin deep down just wants to be accepted. He doesn’t get much human interaction, and he occasionally makes an effort, but he’s seen as menacing because of his outfit, his utter lack of social skills, and the faint smell of blood that follows.

Irwin grew up in a not-so-good household where his father was absent and his mother did the bare minimum. She couldn’t keep a job, and when there was food in the house, it went to her. Irwin’s mother was approached by someone claiming to be a doctor, saying if she gave away her son, he would pay her a fortune. She refused at first, but over time she grew to hate him. When she finally caved in and sold her son away, Irwin was 7 years old. He was raised in a strange place that seemed like a run down hospital mixed with a factory. While the education was decent, he had a hard time adjusting and was treated awfully. If he couldn’t complete a task he was given or finish a problem in time, he would be punished. The experiments started when he was 9. Every sliver of positivity the poor boy was crushed. He was one of the only people to survive the experiments, and the eventual downfall of the project overall. One day, several patients managed to break out of their rooms and cause a large fire. They mixed with a flammable chemical gas in one of the testing rooms, causing an explosion that wiped out the majority of the building—almost every patient was killed. Irwin managed to survive, alongside a few of the “doctors”. He was left to die in the burning and collapsing building, though he eventually escaped. He was 21.

Hobbies, Interests, etc.

Irwin loves to play piano, and he’s really good at it, too. He also enjoys singing, but is very self conscious about it and only ever sings when he’s alone. He also collects plants. His full collection consists of two aloes, two snake plants, three Chinese evergreens, three Maranta prayer plants, one stalk of Lucky Bamboo, three jade plants, five different types of ivy, and six peace lillies. In total, he has twenty five plants. He’s self taught in almost all of his activities.
