Story
Childhood
Even as young royalty, Mortemer always has a quench for adventure and would have many outings away from their kingdom to explore the surrounding waters. It wouldn't take too long for them to shift their focus onto the surface world, a place that was buzzing with life and excitements. Their favorite place to frequent was a seaside town with a beach, the place that homed their bestest friend in the whole wide world, Seth Glasmelt!
The two would meet when they were both 12, both in the sea actually! Seth, oh silly silly Seth! He was drowning. And then he wasn't! It's amazing what saving a life can do to someone! From that day onward the two would have an unshakeable bond with the friendship necklaces (ENGAGEMENT JEWELRYYY) to symbolize it, but that didn't mean they wouldn't meet any hurdles. Mortemer was kidnapped! While waiting for Seth at the ports, they were ambushed by a group of pirates for their jewels and then kept around for their healing powers.
Early Life
For being kidnappers, the pirates were rather hospitable to Mortemer. Sure, they didn't want to let Mortemer go and they were much too far away from that little seaside port and Mortemer's kingdom, but they tried to make the best of bad situation for the next several years. Mortemer found some comfort in the camaraderie that the crew shared, but still, it would've been better if Seth was able to enjoy it too. Ah well. Throughout those years Mortemer would stick it out and help the pirates become less pirate-y, resolving more fights and eventually reforming their crew's entire 'tude to pirating! Yes, no more reasons to need a healer anymore!
The crew would disband on fairly good terms with each other, which would be a good thing for Mortemer if they were actually at the seaside village. No no, they were in an entirely new sea! Well, if they want to reunite with their best friend again they would have to start now!
Ongoing Story
Seth and Mortemer would reunite back at sea, Seth now being a pirate with his own crew and Mortemer with the freedom to choose to become a pirate again! Unfortunately, didn't have a bond like either of their past crews and they would end up disbanding after saving the world together with a bunch of nobodies (seriously, what were their crewmates names?) and gaining a new crew of blind orphans! It's a strange story to have, but neither of their lives were ever quite ordinary, was it?
Now is a good time to mention that these two have been married since they were children! Not intentionally, of course, but once Mortemer found out about the cultural significance of the seashells that oh so many best friends shared in their kingdom, well...it makes sense to not take that away! If marriage is meant to be a symbol of everlasting love for someone, then its perfect for Sethemer.
