A strange kind of harpy raised by humans, Rovenier struggled his whole life with not belonging anywhere, being feared and misunderstood by most. After his best friend died, he was lost and troubled, seeking answers in dangerous dark magics.
He found some solace among other harpies and their devotion to their creator deity, the sky goddess Heid, as they promised salvation from his cursed nature.
Raven became an Exorcist for the Hopean order, tasked mostly with tracking and stopping blasphemous magic usage, in name of his new deity.
Still, Raven is not clear from his own fascination towards the arts of sorcery he's sworn to stop, and his natural curiosity threatens his loyalty to the harpies' views and interests.
Born in shadow
Blood harpy, Hunter harpy, Vampire... his kind is known by many names, and their scarcity has shrouded their existence in a lot of mystery.
The beast within hungers for the living in order to power itself, the transformation is slow and painful, and very much tied to the individual's emotions. Raven has succeeded in controlling some aspects of the beast, mostly pushing it deep down by force.
He has keen tracking instincts and reflexes, being also able to dematerialize himself into smoke for extra agility. Raven can also shift into a false, misty image of a common raven, which is slighty see-through.
Besides his naturally menacing presence, he also has a guttural screech that puts paranoic fear into any person's brain.
● Raven is a good dancer and enjoys to play violin and piano. He also has a beautiful singing voice.
● in Hopea, there are laws for blood harpies to go around. Raven has to take a daily chemical test in his fangs to verify he's kept clean from his killing nature. There is also a dreaded trial where the beast harpy is put on edge to test their resolve and purity; Raven has not gone through it yet, due to his calm and collected image.
● Raven speaks very formally all of the time. he also doesn't use any contractions in his speech unless very distressed.
● Raven's fighting style is very whimsical and floaty.
● Eats sugary treats as a coping mechanism to stress; sometimes will eat pure sugar with a spoon if he's particularly unwell.
● He has special sensors on his gums to track and identify prey, which he can use by opening his mouth and exposing his gums like felines do. He can sense dead bodies and nearby bleeding prey. He can smell your fear. He can also smell if you're horny.
● Raven enjoys painting and drawing since his youth, his artstyle is extremely colorful and stylized in sharp shapes.
● Grows feathers on his body with stress, same for his hand shifting into talons.
● Raven is considerably taller than regular harpies, which are on average 1,6m tall. All his clothes are tailored specifically to him.
● Fears most bugs.
● Is a good cook, and mostly eats plant-based foods.
● Raven has never fully transformed into his beast form, only ever got close. Its unknown danger is his biggest fear.
● When dabbling in magic, Raven has chosen lighting as his first and sole element. He did so out of pettiness after being told thunder is too dangerous and hard for a beginner to channel.

The two had been best friends as children, inseparably so.
And over a decade later, they reencountered as very different versions of themselves.
The two have plenty of conflict, but remained very attached to one another.

Rivals
Raven and Es are often caught in common goals, but with both having different approaches and views to dealing with the supernatural, they clash often. It doesn't help that both are extremely stubborn and want things to go their way.

Raven and Luki don't meet often nowadays, but care a lot for each other. The both of them share similar resentment and feelings which they bonded over. When working together they're a hell of a dynamic duo.
