During the cold months of leaf bare, Loststar's mother, Feathersong, gave birth to three kits and only Loststar survived. During his time in the nursery Lostkit made many friends but two of the most important friends he would make is a kit by the name, Nightkit, as well as an apprentice named, Cinderpaw.

As an apprentice, Lostpaw would be assigned to Spottedwhisker who was Feathersong's best friend. He'd often take advantage of this and beg to train with Nightpaw and Cinderpaw which really intensified the trios friendship. When Cinderpaw became a warrior, Nightpaw became his closest friend as the two had a few months left before they could full enjoy being around their other companion. Eventually Lostpaw really begins to develop feelings for Nightpaw and gifts her a stone that resembles the color of her eyes.

The trio would reunite as Lostpaw and Nightpaw joined the warriors den with new names, Loststorm and Nightrose. Prior to this Feathersong took over as leader, becoming Featherstar. Nightrose would vanish in the middle of the night and to keep himself from showing any weakness, Loststorm forced himself to forget about her, pushing all their precious memories into the dark depths of his mind. After some time had passed the new deputy would be taken from the clan and Featherstar would name her son as the new deputy. It was not long before Loststorm would become leader himself after a battle with vicious rogues stole his mother's final life. The clan did not expect to have such a young leader but had some faith in him due to his mother's legacy.
