Hydathode only have two face: Resting bitch face, or Grumpy old man.

He's a Nature Spirit, a forest Guardian, his duty being to protect his forest and its wildlife from... Well, everything that may cause it harms.
But after some tragedy, he had to leave his forest, or what was left of it, and decided to travel with Caspian and Vesper to help them in their quest. He keep a strong feeling of guilt, from not having successfully protected his home, and behind his grumpu old man appearence, he do care deeply about his surrounding and any life he encounter.

Oh, and he's surprisingly good at getting caught in traps, in any way, shape or form. If there is a trap in a 20 Miles radius, you can be sure he'll walk right into it.

Oh, and he absolutly despise fire. .
