Barnard isn't much of a family nin. He is passionate about his work as an engineer, and while he enjoys the company of the ladies... kittoms aren't really something that excites him. He has his moments but he is very much an absentee father. He spends most of his time in Kyendi with Tolliver, bringing her spare sparts and making strange contraptions (possibly to impress her) with the other parts.

Tolliver has been Barnard's best friend since childhood. He exclusively calls her "Tolly" and enjoys her company (almost) beyond all else.
Cookie
Cookie is Barnard's son but he didn't spend much of his time raising him. Cookie grew up in Whiimsy's foster care, spending some weekends and holidays with him when he could make time for it.
