About
Evgeny was born during some seriously troubled times for his country and, during WWII, his family managed to flee their homeland, eventually finding their way to America. He could write a book on the things he has experienced in his young life, though he'll leave it up to his father (who is literally doing just that.) He and his four older brothers (who happened to be big hockey fans) managed to keep their spirits up thought it all and pass the time by playing/teaching him to play any chance they could. (Even when they didn't have access to proper equipment, little Evgeny would just "goaltend" in front of a laundry hamper or trash can. XD) Though it was all just for fun they realized he had a true talent for it too, and urged him to try out for a team if he ever got the chance. Once they settled in their new home in Jersey he humbly requested to join the Pirates, and Jean-Luc was so impressed with his skill that he gave him a spot on the team immediately, telling their previous goalie he's playing backup now.
With his eagle eye and super quick reflexes other teams find it frustratingly hard to get anything past him, and he has ended many games in a shutout.
__
Although he sure looks big, mean, and scary Evgeny is a reserved, unemotional person who generally avoids conflict and doesn't speak unless he's spoken to or has something "important" to say. He spends a lot of time deep in thought and is usually in a fairly "gloomy" state of mind. (Which is understandable, all things considered.) His face may not show it but he's truly happy while playing hockey, both out of love for the sport and as a reminder of his happiest times growing up. To have the opportunity to play on a real team, with top-of-the-line equipment, is like a dream come true for him!

Extra
- Since I gave Les the number of my fav goalie IRL I gave him #88, after another goalie I like
- Russian is his first language (ofc) and his English is quite good too. His accent is thick, but he speaks clearly and others rarely have a hard time understanding him
- He was homeschooled by his dad for most of his life and is especially knowledgeable in literature and history, as his dad thought these subjects are most important
- The scar on his face is something he refuses to talk about (he was cut with a knife )
