Timid, meek, self-conscious, but also somehow brave and selfless. He excelled at his job, never having to fire a shot- that doesn’t mean he never did. While he’s very anxious about doing anything, the moment someone’s in trouble or the sanctity of a home is endangered, he’s right in the fray, saving anyone he can. Also he can and will cook for you. Unfortunately, outside of work, he’s rather clumsy and tends to knock things over. He often trips over his own feet.
He loves a good drink and feeding people, and when he gets overwhelmed, he basically goes into "bitch mode."

Xinyi was born in Shanghai, China, to Zheng Jianyi, and lived a happy life with his mother and his godly mother who sometimes visited, until he was about four. Then, Jianyi got pregnant from a one night stand with Ares, and after nine months of that, suddenly vanished. Xinyi didn’t know this until he returned home from school, and there he sat for four days and four nights, alone, waiting for his mother to return. Eventually, his grandmother picked him up and raised him, moving to America.
Everyone expected him to enter the culinary arts, but he surprised the world when he chose to become a police officer. He was surprisingly good at his job, honestly- with a few simple words, even the rowdiest criminal calmed down and obeyed, although there were some cases when Xinyi didn’t have time and was at the business end of a knife. That’s fine, though, he always healed quickly.
This little ball of anxiety was fired from the force when, instead of apprehending a suspect, he shot him in the dick after finding child porn on the suspect’s computer. Of course, the guy happened to be a senator, blah blah blah, NYPD didn’t want to get sued, so they let Xinyi go. Ares stopped by and had a talk with him, letting him know that perhaps there was something at New Athens for him…
