Matthew (Miitopia AU)

He had grown up in the small town in Greenhorne. Living with his aunt, not knowing what happened to his bio parents. He never really minded his lifestyle, and he was comfortable.

He also grew up with Natalie, another young girl he hung out with a lot. He grew to be very close with her, and once he was old enough, the two decided to move in together.

One day, a young pirate/sailor has landed nearby Greenhorne. Being the friendly guy he is, he went out and met her, quickly becoming friends with Summer, the traveling pirate. He found what she did to be exciting, and wondered if he would get to do that one day.

Then Summer had to leave. When the Dark lord Ethan started taking over all of Miitopia, Summer recieved a calling to go save it, and she left Matthew behind, a bit to his disappointment.

A small bit of time after Summer left, Matthew felt like he heard a voice, one calling him to follow after Summer, and join her on her quest. So, he picked up a sword to learn to use along the way, and followed after her to become her first team member on a long journey.

• Matthew used to have powers over ice, where he could freeze and melt water at will. But...some power scrambling happened and he lost those powers after the Dark Lord attacked.
• As this happened, Matthew found himself with a new power. He could make this weird soul fire, that would follow him around. He can make them at will, but he unfortunately doesn't have a lot of control over it, seeming to get stronger or weaker with his emotions.
• Soon after this, he found out he could shapeshift into a cat form. At first he really liked this but...its charm quickly wore off when he realized he didn't know how to change back, being stuck as a cat for days.
