Story

History

While Matthew isn't sure of the circumstances around his birth, they are, less than ideal ones. His mother had him through some of her own infidelity. And at first passed him off as her boyfriends son, until his wings developing ruined that, as both his mother and her boyfriend were human. After it was proven that Matthew was not his, his mother's boyfriend left. His bio father also wanted nothing to do with him, and refused to help his mother.

His mother had decided that she didn't want to raise a baby all by herself after that, and decided to give him up for adoption. Then, his aunt, disgusted by her sister's actions and lack of responsibility, decided to take Matthew in and raise him herself, despite having said before she wanted to be childfree. She did take him in partway to look better than her sister, but over time, did find herself caring about the little boy who's in this situation through no fault of his own.

Current Day

Matthew grew up in America with his Aunt since that time, having to move a lot from his aunt picking up new jobs over in different places. Because he kept constantly moving, he never really had many friends, at least none that were close to him, as he'd usually have to move again before he could get very close. Instead, he found a great interest in reading and writing books, and turned most of time and attention towards doing that.

He never really focused on making friends after doing that, but he always had found himself being a little lonely, at least until he found some strange little creatures that he would soon become very attached to. And during his schooling, he got approached by a girl named Summer, who almost quite literally pulled him into her friend group. Where he could find people to get close to from there.

Species/Powers Notes

Half-Wing

Matthew is a Half-Wing. A Half-Wing is a hybrid between a human and my original species the Winged. Half-Wings will have the wings from their Winged parent, but they unfortunately do not get the hollow bones from that parent, and thus they can not fly. But if their human parent happens to have an elemental power, they can inherit that from their parent.

Ice Powers

Matthew has Ice powers. He can manipulate ice and water at his will, and freeze water as well as turn it into steam. He can also shape water and ice into various shapes, and can blast water at others, and even freeze other objects. Ice users typically have a lower body temperature than other people, and can take colder things better. But because Matthew is not full human, he can not take the cold as well, and actually feels cold almost all the time, wearing warmer clothing all the time.

Design Notes

• He's got freckles on his shoulders, though he usually covers his shoulders.
• He tends to wear a lot of layers
• His eyebrows are a bit thick

Relationships

Duncan

[ Closest Friend ]

Matthew met Duncan along with the friend group after being introduced to them by Summer. Him and Duncan fairly quickly hit it off with each other with both their more quiet and somewhat calm natures. The two also felt they could understand each other better than the others. Over time the two decided to hang out more, and Matthew soon considered Duncan to be one of his closest friends, knowing he could rely on him for anything.(Character belongs to SunshineCo)

Natalie

[ Friend/crush? ]

Natalie was introduced to him by Summer, where the two, while both a bit shy, did hit it off pretty well. While Matthew finds her pretty quiet, he does seem to find himself having some similar interests to her, and wants to continue to try and grow closer to her. (Character belongs to novamallow)

Hollie

[ Friend ]

Matthew found Hollie injured out in the woods nearby his home. He then decided to take the tiny creature to his house, and nursed her back to health. While she was a bit nervous around him at first, Hollie found herself being grateful for him helping her heal. And after she decided to stay around him, and he tries his best to continue to take good care of her, even taking her to places so she could see all kinds of sights.

Ferro

[ Ferro ]

Ferro met Matthew when Hollie introduced the group of them to him. Matthew was always kind to Ferro, despite his stand off-ish attitude and bit of rude way of talking. He continues to try and break through to him anway, thinking there is someone more kind with a heart of gold beneath the rough exterior

Bastet

[ Friend ]

astet met Matthew when the group was intoduced to him from Hollie. The two got along pretty well almost immediately, Bastet liking Matthew's sweet nature. Matthew tends to spoil Bastet a lot, making sure to get her plenty of clothes and also spoils her with grooming as well. But he also just loves chatting with her during those times, and the two just enjoy spending company with each other.

Alucard

[ Relationship ]

lucard was also introduced to Matthew along with the rest of the group, and the two got along amicably pretty quickly. While Matthew tries to continue to get close to him, he learned that Alucard was more independent, and just occasionally wanted some alone time. Though he does know Alucard does still like being spoiled a little bit.
