The Possessed

13425000_XjSauT6WeE7gc0s.png

Vain | Racist | Manipulative | Selfish | Jealous | Opinionated | Tough

Vain :: Although raised to be a warrior, Saartjie is not one to allow her own personal appearance to fall to the way side. Well put together, she refuses to seem less than in anybody’s eyes – lest of all those she deems unworthy. She is not ashamed to think upon herself and supernatural beauty and her confidence shows in every one of her movements.

Racist :: Raised to believe herself above other lesser species, he tends to look down upon those with less attractive features. Particularly biased towards those who share her wings, unicorns and regular equines inspire her absolute contempt. She is not shy about voicing her opinions either. At ease when surrounded by her own kind, she can even tend to be a bit sexist. Seeing males as absolute brutes, she prefers female company finding their naturally demure and fragile dispositions utterly empowering.

Manipulative :: Talented in both the arts of physical and verbal charms, she finds her natural beauty makes it easy to weave a web to her advantage. Viewing males as nothing more than lustful creatures, she is not too proud to use her body to get whatever it is she desires. Males and females alike are not safe, and she finds her appetites for both equally unimpressive.

Selfish :: It does not come as a huge surprise to discover that Saartjie is very self-centered. In here mind the universe has but one center and she is it. Possessive of even those she may not entirely like, she believes that vengeance is hers alone and it is her right to dole out her fury upon those who inspire it. She, very obviously, puts herself first in almost every situation and acts of selflessness are very view and far between.

Jealous :: Walking had in hand with her selfishness is her jealous tendencies. Although rare, when she does find herself taking a liking to another, she is easily drive to madness if she suspects the object of her affection is being untrue. Nothing would make her happier than to keep her love squirrelled away in some secluded corner of the world.

Opinionated :: Loud and proud are the best words to describe her. Thousands of opinions swirl within her pretty head and she is not afraid to spout them off at the first given opportunity. Unafraid to go head to head with someone of differing views, she is not likely to give up easily. A frightening opponent you would be loath to cross her.

Tough :: As a filly, Saartjie’s mother was a very unforgiving sort. Wholly unforgiving and unwavering, Saartjie was raised in such a manner that she learned to expect no mercy. A difficult concept at first, she adapted and grew into a mare that is just as tough as her dam taught her to be. Knowing no fear, she would do whatever it took to see her purposes fulfilled. She does not easily consider the weaknesses of others as a suitable excuse and does not know the meaning of the word empathy. One could almost feel sorry for her, but she would only laugh in your face if you were brave enough to say so.

Saartjie can now see spirits but is only able to communicate with them on their terms. Although she may try, she is unable to seek out specific spirits and any effort or attempt to try and control or influence their motives will leave her exhausted and weakened. It is extremely easy for spirits to possess her body for a time until their purposes are realized. She is unable to cast them out herself and is completely at their will. If spirits are willing, however, she can act as their voice and relay messages. She also able to tell evil spirits from peaceful ones

Breif description of powers

In The Past

Destiny is a curious thing. Even before her birth Saartjie already bore the impossible weight of expectation. Created from a place of duty and lust, she could not know that her father had not loved her mother as he should have. For months she had grown within her mother, Imka, a mare who was not shy about sharing her opinion of the great Drogo with her unborn child. Frequently absent from the pregnant mare’s life, the details of his dubious attention were not kept secret from the unborn filly. So, it came as no surprise when, at the time of her birth, Drogo’s deep-toned voice remained far and away. Perhaps grown wise by her mother’s constant conversation, the young filly quickly grew to sense the tension that clung to her mother.

Observant and naturally driven to curiosity, as most young children often are, Saartjie spent most of her early days learning all that she could of the new world she’d been welcomed into. Herd life quickly revealed itself to be a complicated and political place. The means with which her parents had been paired were not impossible to guess and love slowly grew to be a concept nearly impossible for the filly to comprehend. Imka’s own emotional detachment and lack of nurturing only furthered to season Saartjie’s similar disposition.

Just a few days after turning a month old, Drogo would finally return. Excited to finally meet the stallion who had sired her, Saartjie does her best to ensure that hers would be a good first impression. Bathing and combing her hair, her mother carefully tended to her daughter’s appearance hopeful that her mate would be impressed with the filly they had created. No sooner had the man materialized before them, however, that both mother and daughter’s worlds would be forever changed.

Though ignorant of their fate at the time, the introduction to the newborn and broken filly at his side does not sit well with Imka. Instantly apprehensive and cold towards the pitiful creature, the mare makes no promise to tend to the foal and, thus, the filly named Mordecai is adopted by another. For a short time Imka allows Saartjie and Mordecai to interact and the two fillies, so close in age, become fast friends. Alike in many ways, Saartjie discovers a companionship with Mordecai that she had never felt before. For a short time, the colorful filly’s life appears to be perfect. With her father’s return to her mother’s side the illusions of family life only manage to blind the young horse momentarily.

Drogo’s attentions are fleeting, however, and despite her best efforts, Saartjie is unable to inspire her father’s adoration. A strong, willful and talented filly, she trained and learned beside the next generation of warriors, only to find Drogo preferring to spend time with Mordecai or elsewhere. Imka notices as well and it is soon revealed that the black filly with the busted wing was also of his blood. Angered by the deception, the slighted mare is quick to forbid her daughter from furthering her relationship with the filly. Angered by the betrayal, Saartjie instantly hardens, swearing never to trust another again and instantly banishing Mordecai from her mind.

For the rest of her young life, Saartjie held tight to her bias – reveling in her hate as she is forced to stand by and watch her father’s attention wander farther from her reach. Striving to do be her absolute best, she always seems to fall short. As for Mordecai, her bastard half-sister, Saartjie is always careful to treat the mare with contempt. Maturing into an impressive warrior, she does not think twice when her father and sister disappear from her life entirely. Grateful to have them both out of her life for good, she focuses her energy in the things she deems as important. Little did she know that soon everything she loved would fall to waste as Helovia falls to ruin. Banished from the only home she ever knew, Saartjie is forced to wander the world, never truly finding her home – her family completely stolen away. Little did she know that she would soon be brought to the same realm where her most despised rival now called home.

Appearance

Painted in the colors of a Lilac Breasted Roller, she is a magnificent sight. Tall and lean, her build leaves nothing to be desired. Long legged and fit, there is not an ounce of fat to be found on her. Rippling muscles stretch upon her silhouette, feeding the eyes with her perfect composition. Despite the Warmblooded breed of her father, she does not favor him. In both build and design, she is a daughter of the desert completely. The long legs that seemed to make up the whole of her, carry her quickly and elegantly upon any surface – her surefootedness impressive even against the wildest of beasts. Quick over land, her gaits are beautifully elongated and full of the drama characteristic to the Akhal-Teke that shows more predominantly in her features.

The hues of her are, perhaps, one of the first things that you will notice of her. Stretching upon the majority of her, soft lavender tones give way to a sunset orange that begins upon the nape of her back and ends in the soft place between her two massive wings. Her face is a compiled mess of softer browns, tans and charcoals all swirling together and nearly discernable from where one-color surrenders to the next. Dark angular patches of nearly black give her sapphire blue eyes a stage to pop and play, deceptively sweet upon her stern face. Breaking free from the plum tradition of her coat, two cream colored socks take home on her front legs, separating themselves from the two hindlegs that share the stage with a similar color to her eyes. A stripe of near navy rests under her mess of black mane, a tone that matches the underside of her massive plumes. When outstretched, the orange top of her wings catches the light in an impressive display of pure color.

A warrior through and through, she is unusually concerned by her appearance. More commonly than not a few strands of her mane are braided intermittently throughout. Her mane is long and dark, matching the free-flowing tail that reaches nearly to her hooves. Rarely will you ever find her out of sorts or with a single strand of hair out of place. She takes pride in her appearance and it shows.
