Ponzu is an energetic demon who is never seen without her trademark grin. She is generally good-natured but can become spiteful if provoked, a capricious demon to say the least. She isn't "nice" or "kind" by any definition, simply cheery. Her massive claws are her most noticeable feature, big and curved like a grizzly bear or mole. She likes to make others surprised, and generally her pranks and jokes are made for that purpose, not out of any malicious intent. Ponzu enjoys sweets and anything busy and fun, so she is generally seen wandering around the city streets where she lives, causing mischief and enjoying life. Not much fazes her, as long as she isn't bored. This has been known to get her into trouble from time to time, but try to lecture her and she'll just grin and shrug. Her favourite place is a particular cafe.

Ponzu, being created to be a simple soldier demon, does not need to eat food. You see, soldier demons were created so that the only energy they'd need is from light. Ponzu's home dimension is very dark and gloomy, but when a demon's blood is exposed to the "air" of her dimension, it releases a phosphorescent light similar to a sea creature. So, the more soldier demons kill, the longer they live, and the weak soldiers die off fast from not getting light. She just absorbs sunlight now, using her tail like a solar panel.

Ponzu grew up in a dark, cold dimension far different from this one. Even its atmosphere and light source were different. She hated it. It was too violent and everything was so damp and there was too much war and blood and not enough fun! After all, most demons there were bred for war, hence her massive claws instead of fingers. The demon society she grew up in valued discipline and strength above all else, and so they bred simply to produce more soldiers. They were fighting a war against other demons for,, well,, no real reason other than for the sake of war. It was fun to them. Those who didn't fit in were made to fit in. But, Ponzu just wasn't a killer.

Ponzu had heard travelers speak of a dimension full of life and colour and creatures called "humans" and while they seemed to despise it for its peace, that place sounded like the perfect place for her. Thus, she left, and found herself in the bright, cheerful world she had dreamed of. Perfect for mischief and positivity. Ponzu decided she would start a new life in this peaceful world and cause mayhem with her pranks for all the right reasons.
