The village’s beloved kitten was spoiled by everyone; a fresh piece of fish would be waiting for her every single morning. Once a storm came and swept her away, it was cold, so very cold. For a while it felt like she was floating away in a void. Death, is this what it felt like? No way, all is well, when the sun rises, as always, the villager’s attention and care will warm her up. The kitten denied what was beyond her understanding. Little did she know the warmth she took for herself derived the villagers of their lifeforce for she was no longer the regular kitten everyone loved. One by one, the villagers passed away and the fish she awaited no longer came. The village was cursed by a demon they say, what's a curse? Is it delicious? Alone she waited and waited in the ghost of a village. Unaware of how long had passed, she waited.
How long had she had been there? All curled up yet still uncontrollably shivering. A gentle stroke on her head woke her up.
“Kiichi. This name will now be your blessing.”
When she woke up the ruined village was restored to its original glory. Lush greenery and rows of quaint street shops, this is it. The village she loved. She thought it was long forgotten, she thought everyone forgot about her.
“You will serve me now; you are to be the guardian of your own home.”
The words carried little meaning to her, but she nodded and determinedly cried,
“…..this is Kiichi’s home!”
Kiichi may cause mischiefs, but at heart she is loyal to her master and would be sad if they were ever mad at her. Kiichi is the only shrine priestess under their direct order, therefore she does most of the job which requires her to visit them at their quarters like delivering offerings, receiving blessings. Kiichi's also the one capable of doing errands in other worlds via the gates opened by their power. She can perform exorcisms under their name as well, mostly utilizing holy objects like talisman or holy water.
As Mystilus is a foreign yokai residing in her master's domain, Kiichi is ordered to keep an eye to him. Not that she's actually doing her job as most of the time she annoys him and caused troubles herself. "Mysti's fluffy tails' the only good thing about him."-Kiichi
