Confidential Information Document - SD-R (Raphaëlle)

(Raphaëlle is French for Raphaella, but is pronounced Raphael as if it were English.)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Character: SD-R (Raphaëlle) | Disassembly Drone OC

SD-R, or Raphaëlle, is a refurbished disassembly drone created by Khan and Ashley. She is also one of the few disassembly drones to retain their personality and memories after being converted into a disassembly drone. She is a basic disassembly drone and stands 5 feet 10 inches tall. She resembled a base model disassembly drone. However, after assessing herself following her revival and adapting to her new, unfamiliar environment, she requested clothing from the clothing storage facility in the colony. She selected a long wig with straight white hair and bangs. She proceeded to braid the long, white hair into dual French braids that hung over her collarbones, leaving much of the hair remaining. She also donned a white button-up shirt, covered by a classic black half-corset, along with matching black slacks to complement her predominantly black ensemble. She resembled a female butler, her preferred representation of comfort in her identity.

Furthermore, since Raphaëlle is alive due to Ashley’s expertise, she has dedicated her life to serving her, often treating Ashley with the utmost passion and care as though she were her caretaker (which, in Raphaëlle’s eyes, she is). She’s very kind and caring (mainly towards Ashley) but friendly to nearly everyone. Despite being friendly towards most, she demonstrated genuine hostility towards N during their first encounter, fueled by her one-sided thoughts about him as a disassembly drone. However, after Ashley helped her reassess her negative thoughts about N, she composed herself and apologized for her behavior. Raphaëlle’s hostility and anger are evident in her expressions and tone, similar to those of any person who is angry. Yet, she strives to hold back her anger and avoid acting rashly in a way she might regret, such as harming an innocent person or someone she holds dear too.

Her character was shaped by her experiences as a caregiver and domestic worker during her early years. She has numerous cleaning products available in her disassembly drone body. She enjoys cleaning Ashley’s labs and organizing everything for her, even though Ashley finds it embarrassing. Raphaëlle doesn’t mind; she takes pleasure in cleaning and assisting Ashley, often humming and singing comically while she works, which helps Ashley fall asleep much more easily. Presumed by her role as a worker drone to be a maid and caretaker, she treats Ashley as a mistress. Whenever Ashley asks her to do something, she responds immediately. If Ashley falls asleep while working, Raphaëlle takes her to a comfortable place to rest. Ashley finds Raphaëlle’s assistance very convenient and helpful, and her company very relaxing, starting to take a liking to Raphaëlle despite her stored hatred towards disassembly drones. She’s the reason for Ashley’s hatred of disassembly drones’ change, making her see them less as tools and more as normal beings (well, mainly only towards her). Due to Raphaëlle already liking Ashley, she develops deeper feelings for her as they spend more time getting to know each other and doing things for her, not just because she needs to (as a form of redemption or punishment), but because she genuinely wants to. Ashley’s been treating her with the utmost kindness and care, and she couldn’t help but feel this way towards her, almost thinking it was undeserving, but Ashley reassured her. Because of Ashley’s treatment towards her, Raphaëlle becomes more flustered and dreamy towards Ashley, longing for a relationship with her.

Background/Lore as a D.D.:

SD-R, also known as “The Angel’s Dust,” is one of the few disassembly drones given a title. The title was given from the reference to “The White Death.” He received his title the same way Raphaëlle received hers. Her camouflage techniques as a sniper. None of her targets knew where or what killed them. The moment they heard a shot, their body fell. Her mission during Earth’s destruction was to target and assassinate potential threats to Cyn’s goal and leave no witnesses alive. She hunted down many high officials, including national leaders with great influence, military personnel, and scientists researching the Absolute Solver—anyone who could pose a potential threat. However, Raphaëlle didn’t want to do any of this, killing anyone. Leaders, influences, personnel—humans, and most importantly, worker drones. She didn’t like or enjoy all the killing and blood splatter on the barrel of her sniper rifle. She was ordered to kill. She didn’t want to. She didn’t ask for a weapon, only used to slaughter the innocent, or this new body she was forced into, and made into a killing machine. She couldn’t stop killing but had to do it for survival.

Raphaëlle is also reasonably good at fencing and maneuvering in close combat, despite her strong suit being with a sniper. Her fencing style resembles that of a dancer paired with her long steel rapier. She responds like a snake, patiently waiting to strike. Capable of dodging and attacking simultaneously with her flexibility and reaction time. Her sniper skills are already perfectly coordinated attacks, and so is her fencing style—constantly scanning for potential weaknesses or opportunities to strike. She can also duel-wield the rapiers, but due to her fencing style, she prefers not to. She can wield one rapier in one arm while holding a Mosin in the other, demonstrating a fighting style that combines perfect close-range and long-range capabilities, with fair offense and defense, and exceptional skills with a rapier. She can also fight at close range with her Mosins for an accurate shot. Though she can display a decent proficiency in close combat, she prefers not to engage and stays at a distance, picking off her opponents from afar as they don’t know where her shots are coming from.

Of course, like other disassembly drones, she had a squadron (unlike Ano, who worked solo). Raphaëlle had a squadron consisting of two other members, SD-T (Titus) and SD-E (Enric), both males, unlike her. T was the leader due to his capabilities being better than that of Raphaëlle and E, and his mentality of doing whatever it takes to get the job done. Raphaëlle didn’t get along with T because of it and was the one to force her to do her job or be seen as a traitor and have her killed. E was friendlier than T to Raphaëlle and was more of the heart of the squadron, keeping everyone together and lively. Although he still did whatever he was told without complaint, he began to question himself and wonder if he was doing the right thing, and he even sympathized with Raphaëlle in a way.

Raphaëlle, after Earth’s destruction, was informed of her team’s new objective and stationed at the Copper-9 system by a sent during the first disassembly drone invasion. She, along with T, E, and others, was tasked with shutting down the CFL experimentation, stopping humans from creating countermeasures by weaponizing worker drones. She kills many scientists and researchers during her mission. However, after seeing humans use worker drones for experiments and seeing their poor physical and mental conditions, she found it unacceptable. She once even tried to sneak away a few CFS, but T caught onto her antics and stopped her, abusing her in a way to get her to stop. T killed several of the subjects on his own, but he forced Raphaëlle to kill the last one.

Despite T having far better fighting capabilities than Raphaëlle. She was ultimately given a title, something T has been working hard for. After the title was assigned to Raphaëlle, T held a grudge against her ever since, with hatred that boiled more after Earth’s destruction, which made him forcefully watch her kill all the more enjoyable.
