Author Notes About Maci & Autumn

Hello, I’m Machi, and I just want to let you all know about my personas/OCs, Maci and Autumn. These two characters are very special to me, not just because they are my personas, but also because they are my OCs. Let me explain. Maci and Autumn act as their own characters, yes. However, their personalities are from both a past and a current me. Their backstories are also based on me, but from two perspectives. Only some of their appearances represent me (Maci’s stretch marks or Autumn’s freckled skin). I would prefer that you refer to them by their respective names rather than as my personas. They share my personality and backstory, yet it is translated into their own character and lore. Maci resembles a younger version of myself, while Autumn resembles a current version of myself. Maci and Autumn share a story. One-shot styled stories with a romance plot. (This is not meant to be taken as a self-ship or self-cest, as I also initially stated that these two are their own OCs in their own way, and that I simply write them for the fun of it.) So the notes below will explain some concepts these two share in their one short scene that I will write and post.

Unseen Love

Autumn has feelings for Maci (for a LONG time, even throughout their childhood, but I’ll say at the start of middle school), influenced by many things from back then and by Maci being a very influential person in her life. (Autumn is shy, while Maci is not and is very outgoing. Autumn wants to be like that, but she knows she can’t, so instead she wants to have that near her all the time.)

Autumn thought that just being the closest of friends would be good enough, but she fears that someone will take Maci from her. (Such as Maci’s guy best friend) and the fear that Maci isn’t into women.

The conflict of this love story is that they aren’t children anymore. The things they used to do as children, like Sleep together, bathe together, etc. Aren’t there things they can just do now, cause they are not only adults but also mature? Those things they did in the past can’t be replicated now because they’ll be seen as different (to Maci, because she’s understanding the gist of relationship standards and such. However, Autumn doesn’t see it that way, only because they used to do this.

Maci enjoys the aspects they do (sometimes, unless it’s overboard). However, when Maci does accept the usual treatment they used back then (mainly has to do with openness, emotionally or physically), she shrugs it off as something they ONLY did as kids, not in a romantic sense (tries not to think that way).

It’s a matter of Maci denying or being oblivious to Autumn’s feelings and things she does because they have been friends for so long. She doesn’t see that Autumn is so romantic that she may think. Even though she believes their relationship is deeper and stronger than it would be if they were a couple. The matter of Autumn being a woman isn’t there. But she also gets a mix of not wanting to disappoint Autumn and wanting to keep close friends.

Stuck in the Past

Autumn and Maci used to be very close physically, always doing activities together, like showering and similar things. But now that they are older, those activities have stopped. Autumn developed feelings for Maci during their long time together, and she shows her romantic interest by doing things they used to do as kids. She always uses the excuse “we did this as kids before.” However, Maci never knew Autumn had feelings for her, and while doing these childhood activities is nice, she wants to grow up—she wants them both to move on from their old childhood ways. (They still do some things together, which Maci either doesn’t deny or can’t when the moment arises, like being comforted by Autumn).
