Zoanids are an open species created by Cosmind
Tawal are an open species created by me!

Because tawal reproduce magically, crossbreeds usually result in a 60/40 split between parent and fossil origin DNA. In the case of viviparous creatures like in this case, zoanids, the child's DNA will favor the fossil origin. The hybrid offspring are infertile both in the biological and magical sense (Meaning that they can't produce a baby with either species). The tawal traits inherited would be floppy ears, full body fur, bulky upper arms with weak digging claws, dense bones, and hoof toes. Unlike other zoanid crossbreeds, potent tawal magic causes a twalian zoanid to produce a larger amount of silk than what would be considered normal. It glitters too!

Liron was born because his parents found the fossilized skull of one of his ancestors and decided to use it in their egging ritual (In which either a skull, rock, or crystal is given portions of the parent's spirit and transformed into an egg). Liron's egg was unusual because instead of being a hard stone or bone like material, it was much softer and required extreme care to incubate. He very nearly wasn't born at all.

Liron's kitten name was "Curiosity" due to all other members of his warren being fascinated with how he appeared. He was given his adult name due to his natural musical talent.

Liron is 5'0", much taller than a normal tawal but much shorter than the average zoanid.

Liron was raised in his home warren underground for the first 20 years of his life. Despite being wildly different from his parents and hatch mates, he was loved and cared for like any other of the kittens. When it was discovered that he wouldn't develop strong enough digging claws, he was taught to forage for food instead. When his mouth tackles started developing, he was encouraged to learn about this unique feature and it was discovered he could use them to catch fish with the foraging parties on the surface. His differences were uplifted and celebrated amongst his warren and he was never left feeling unloved. When the elders of his warren learned of nearby zoanid scientists in the area, Liron was asked to be the official ambassador between the two species.
