About

Background

 Michiko was born to a pair of poor working class Japanese parents, who shortly before her birth separated. She spent much of her early life hopping between homes as both parents shared equal custody, one week on, one week off. Her father met someone, who soon became Michiko's step-mother and helped add some stability to her husband's life - though not the best of friends with her stepmother, they both loved her father and so got along to appease him. It was when Michiko was seven, and she overheard her father expressing concerns about being made redundant, that she walked in and bluntly suggested a solution that would change their lives; In desperation, Mr Ikeda took his daughter's advice and ended up getting a promotion and considerable pay rise. His success at work led to a happier home life, and his wife gave him two more children, both boys. Grateful to his daughter for what she said, he encouraged this behaviour and got her extra classes, focusing her studying towards counselling, psychology and sociology. He would make sure to make time for her, in which they would discuss his work and she would give her input, each time resulting in positive results.

 Meanwhile, Michiko's mother continued to encounter a string of failures, but Michiko's advice fell on deaf ears. Mr Ikeda attempted to intervene and encourage her to listen to their daughter, but in the end, applied for full custody of Michiko so she wouldn't have to watch her mother spiral out of control. Michiko's mother didn't fight for her, and the young teen didn't hear from her again.

 She began working at her father's company as a part-time assistant before Hope's Peak Academy scouted her talent as the Ultimate Advisor.

Personality

{ KIND } Michiko greets everyone with warm smiles and a friendly attitude, even in the face of rudeness. She knows how to use gentle words to calm anger and fear, and never speaks a bad word against anyone.
{ RESOURCEFUL } Both in using her talent and in daily life she weighs up everything at her disposal and considers how to use it most effectively - even people.
{ CAUTIOUS } Michiko would rather take time to think something over, which sometimes causes her to be hesitant or lost in thought.
