A shy and anxious Nightwing raised in the City of Night with her single mother. She was pressured to do very well in school, and has indeed become an incredibly knowledgeable and good writer. But she also never made any friends, and has been isolated most of her life.
She was hatched with prophetic powers, and her mother used this to her advantage. Her mother has been poor most of their life, and ended up turning to a criminal life sometime in Augury's late teens, travelling far across the contintent and leaving her alone in the house for weeks and months on end. Her life is very boring. She rarely leaves the house, and tries to distract herself by reading or writing.
They communicate frequently through mail. Her mother uses Augury's strong future sight to plan her next heists with her group, predicting where it will go wrong and how to prevent it and such. She sends Augury a scroll with the general details of the plan and Augury writes down notes and sends it back.
These scrolls are almost always delivered by Swift, a Skywing full of excitement and energy like she has never seen before. She eventually opens up and starts talking to him instead of slamming the door, and she realises how wrong her mother is and how much life she's missing the more they talk. hhhmmmmmmm
