Profile
(One of Three Deuteragonists)
JUN LIU - 刘俊 -
"I don't want to be anyone else's diamond ring. I am a singular jade gemstone illuminated by the sunlight. My home and heart is with you."
There are three words to describe Jun: he's beautiful, he's full of bravery and has brains. He is a young man that never lets society's labels define who he is. He rows his own boat and likes it that way. To this day, many family members and friends alike do believe his mature and ambitious personality will lead him to a lot of successes one day, regardless of what gender he comes out as.
Despite losing his biological father early due to an unknown terminal illness, Jun has lived a very happy life full of music and artistry. He met the love of his life, Kiri Phy, during high school and everyone expected him and Kiri to get married soon right after Kiri completes his sixthform. Yet...life had other plans in store for the young jade and his vibrant sunshine. The two have gotten themselves stuck in a cruel game of death hosted by a dark phoenix; and now they are doing their best to escape, alive. The wedding bells will have to be put on hold, until then.

Personality
Intuitive
This is the main trait in Jun's personality that the other characters call him a "mother hen" for, it's the fact that he's extremely good at figuring out a person's personality in full as long as he's in a calm state of mind. From the actions they perform down to the words they choose to say, Jun always listens to his gut feeling instead of using solid proof, which in his favor always seems to be the correct answer. Jun is never shy to speak out the truth to those that seek it, be it for or against. He always wants nothing but to be a positive influence for those he cares about, and see them also living out their truths.
Sentimental
Jun takes great care of the treasures that he currently has in his vast collection very close to his heart, and never wishes to let any of these things go. Some of the noteable things that mean the most to him, is his father's pendant, a jade beaded bracelet that Kiri gave to him on one of their dating anniversaries, and a second pendant that came from Kiri's side of the family. Should he ever lose any of these items (and more), he gets so upset and stressed out that he will do whatever it takes to recover these precious items. It shows that he has a good heart when it concerns others and he will save any piece no matter its age.
Artistic
Art is his absolute, number one passion. Jun can draw, sketch and paint; make beautiful makeup looks for others or on his own face; and he's active in the performing arts community which means dancing and making music (in his case, he's a pro on the violin). There is literally no limitations to what he can't do in the vast art world, he's always willing to try/discover new things to enhance his own artistic knowledge further. Especially with his current profession as a YouTuber, he's been currently trying to educate himself on making his videos appear top quality.
(Very) Stubborn
When something doesn't sit right with him, Jun is not afraid to be straightforward about this one thing that bothers him. If the other person committing to this behavior doesn't seem to adjust well or ignores his boundaries however, Jun will either get frustrated with that person and distance himself from them, or get extra pushy about it if he knows they're capable of changing their habits slightly or drastically. He doesn't like to do that all the time, but its all in the name of doing what he thinks is right and leading that person back on the right track.
Worrywart
During the six-seven year period of dealing with Alphonso's abuse, Jun unfortunately has developed a side where he's in this constant state of worry; particularly for Kiri's safety, since this man (Alphonso) had so many powerful connections during his prime and can use them to ruin lives as he sees fit. After the ordeal, its not very hard to put Jun into a state where he will freeze up in panic if he can't think of an easy solution fast enough when it regards a loved one's life. He's still currently working through that through therapy to this day.
Perfectionist
Jun always strives to be perfect in anything he sets his mind onto, even if he's self aware that he's not talented in every subject, he does this because he simply believes he can make his loved ones proud of him. However he does have his moments where he feels like even his best is not 'good' enough. Sometimes he deals with his upcoming songs not sounding too good or not getting a move right in his solo dance routines. When these sorts of things happen, he gets depressed and unmotivated about it for days, but he just needs a reminder now and again that he's doing great and not to push himself to a burnout.

Summary
CHILDHOOD
Having lost his father due to a terminal illness shortly sometime after his birth, Jun lived the first years of his life comfortably alongside his then-widowed mother, Xiaoling, and his grandfather in Hangzhou. It was when he turned at least five years old that Xiaoling summed up the courage to pick up her life again where it last stopped. She loved to travel around to places, and took baby Jun on little vacations here and there. It was on one of said mini trips that she ended up meeting her second husband, a Japanese photographer named 'Seita', and eventually started a new relationship with him that resulted in marriage and the birth of their baby girl, 'Jiao'. It didn't take Jun too long to adjust to having a new father figure in his life, let alone a new baby sister, in fact he was excited to see his family grow bigger and his mother looking happier again.
ADOLESCENCE
Jun's world would continue to expand later into his teenage years, starting with his family making a big move away from Hangzhou, eventually starting a new chapter of their lives in London due to Seita's photography business. Him and Jiao also grew particularly close as they shared many of the same hobbies together; which also includes feminine things like fashion and makeup. This came as a bit of a surprise to both Xiaoling and Seita, noticing how much Jun used to be so shy and a little quieter as a child, but his sister helped him to come out of his shell big time, and he radiated confidence wherever he went. Thankfully, the young couple were accepting of this blossoming side of Jun, because they loved seeing him be this bright and happy even if they both knew well that he's going to be different.
Jun had multiple instances during his puberty where sometimes he wondered if he was actually meant to be a woman, but other days he felt like a man. But at the time, he just didn't have the appropriate name for it. That was months before he was due to prepare for his second year of high school. And he finally knew what the name of his supposed 'label' was after searching for required reading material for his courses.
By the age of thirteen, Jun finally came out as genderqueer, as he couldn't see himself being strictly male, female or in between. He always felt fluid about himself, and he let this fact be known to his own family first before facing the turbulence of other students from his school that didn't agree to what Jun was thinking or saying about himself at the time. After multiple attempts of being silenced by other students solely for his resolve towards his own identity, Jun eventually fell into a state of depression which lasted for the remainder of his high school journey. He was having difficulty making friends or being accepted into any social circle until one day...he crossed paths with a student named 'Kiri'. Kiri was the first friend Jun made in literal years at this point, and despite being a first year himself, he was by far the first person to ever accept Jun as himself. Kiri was the first person Jun can call a best friend, and he made him feel very safe.
Those strong, emotional feelings for Kiri eventually blossomed into love for Jun. Likewise, Kiri felt the same way about Jun too, despite that he had a former girlfriend before. After some tumultuous moments of having their feelings become known, Jun and Kiri finally started dating each other; while fulfilling the biggest wishes among their parents and multiple friend groups. This definitely was the happiest period in Jun's life at this point, because after him and Kiri both finished their high school education, they decided to move out and get a small house together as they continue their respective career paths. And also acquire a taste of independance since both of them were mature and responsible enough to accomplish that.
ADULT (PRESENT DAY)
Jun and Kiri were living out their wildest dreams together. Things that they promised each other as young teens are now coming true, they had their own house, they owned a couple of pets, and managed to make time to see their friends from both high school and college no matter the time of day. Most importantly, they got to see each other every day and every night and just have casual days of doing whatever they feel like in each other's company. With Kiri still finishing up school however, Jun thought it would be a nice idea to start building up his resume, now that he just completed his sixthform fully and was eligible to work. He wanted to become a musical therapist and had the opportunity to intern at a local clinic.
It seemed like things have been smooth sailing for the two of them...until the moment Jun began settling into his new working environment. There was a young bachelor named Alphonso Dugal that entered Jun's life, at first he was nothing more than just the son of the clinic's owner that held no power. But little by little, Alphonso wanted to become more relevant in Jun's personal life too, even though Jun didn't give any form of consent to this man, especially since he didn't know him that well yet. Then, it became clear to Jun that this man was...potentially a stalker. He let Kiri know of his situation at work and him and Kiri did their absolute best to stay away from Alphonso's tracks, but only for a short while until the truth began to unravel from both sides.
This resulted with Alphonso finally snapping at Jun, after realizing that he actually was with someone else that wasn't him. He loved Jun, but wanted to do something about Kiri since he was the biggest obstacle in his eyes. He wanted to take him away from Jun so Jun pays more attention to him...and took him away he did. And now, Jun has to fight back and bring his beloved sunshine home.
Kiri Phy
[ Fiancé.💕 ]
The one and only love of his life. There hasn't been anyone else capable enough to sweep Jun off his feet until Kiri came along. They crossed paths in high school to help a fellow classmate, and right off the bat they just...clicked. Even though there was some minor conflicts in between before their affections for each other became mutually accepted. After high school, the two of them had a very happy relationship and started to live independantly from their respective families- until the day Kiri abruptly disappeared from Jun's life and halting that happiness for a long while.
Story Update: With the help of Jun's new friends, Ottilia Dugal and Escher Durante, they managed to find out where Kiri had been kept for the past decade. Due to his good behavior, Alphonso, Ottilia's little brother and the prime suspect to Kiri's kidnapping, kept him in a nice, suite style room in a bunker that lacked windows to let in sunlight. After Jun and Kiri saw each other after six agonizing years of dealing with Alphonso's abuse, they ended up meeting each other secretly since that day. And on one of those days, Kiri dropped a very heartwarming proposal to marry Jun once they're out of this predicament for good; once Kiri regains a fraction of his strength back. After letting out a few tears over this, Jun said...yes.
Casey Shim
[ Close Friends. ]
Casey is one of Kiri's closest friends from childhood. Everything about this guy screams 'mature big brother' to him, he's always been keeping an eye on Kiri when Jun is unable to do that himself when he has something dire to take care of. Even school children really love to hang around Casey before he even had his own to raise years later! There is no doubt that Jun also has a massive soft spot for Casey, he's also just as much of a big softie just like his fiancé. And, Jun does find it very cute that Kiri and Casey will both hype each other up over similar interests for things that are cute or related to staying fit and healthy.
Story Update: Jun recently met up with Casey after eight full years of little to no contact. But it seems like time never really passed for them at all. He's genuinely happy to hear that Casey's life feels more than complete, he's married with kids and with a well-paid job. Though, it does feel pretty painful that he has to keep Kiri's situation quiet for the time being- all in the name of safety.
Eko Iker-Brion
[ Friends! ]
According to Casey, Eko's become a fairly new resident in the London setting apart from the fact that they both work in the same investigative firm together. At first he wasn't all that much talkative, but Eko surely has warmed up to Jun a little bit. Jun finds it really cute that Eko will often come to him for advice about various things, such as skincare, haircare, or even plantcare or any art projects Jun might have done.
Story Update: After Eko has recently got his heart shattered over the news of Casey being a married man, Jun was the first to come to the scene to provide Eko some comfort over this. Since he was the only one there when he broke down, and he had a similar experience himself when Kiri dated a girl for a short while before they got together.
Levi Jr. Brennan
[ Good Friends! ]
One of the most interesting individuals Jun has ever met, Levi is also the first friend with a clear hotshot personality that hasn't managed to annoy Jun right away with his eccentric behavior. In the past, Jun and Levi barely interacted as much, even when they had a brief reunion with Casey and Cherry involved. But over time Jun did realize that Levi's actually a really good guy. That he's just one misunderstood older brother that does subtle things to show affections for those he cares about.
Story Update: Just to keep conflicting thoughts about Kiri's situation at bay, Jun has asked Levi personally to train him to dance to kill some time. Levi is currently, unaware of the fact that he's teaching Jun a dance for his upcoming wedding.
Cherry
[ Good Friends! ]
In Jun's eyes, Cherry and Levi are both two peas in a pod, both of them are very smug and always crack a lot of goofy jokes in front of him as well as the rest of their friend group. Jun definitely does believe Cherry is a good fit for Levi, despite the fact that they like to put up a consistent frivolous front in front of the others, Jun has witnessed some soft moments between them, too.
Story Update: He managed to help Cherry remember with his Recollection ability that he met Levi back in the past- alongside Kiri, himself, Casey, and Damien. Cherry's memory was completely shattered due to his years of abuse, so Jun wanted to help ease his inner pains a little bit by letting him know that Levi did appear in his life when he was getting through the early half of high school at the time. Their relationship grew stronger after that.
Jiao "Nico" Liu
[ Half-Sister!🌈 ]
Surprisingly enough, Jun can actually handle her intensely chaotic energy with ease. He seems to be one of the rare individuals that doesn't get easily exhausted from her antics no matter how bold they seem. Jun and Nico, despite the polarity between their personalities, are very close and they can read into each others wants and wishes down to the T. He does deeply care about his sister, and will not hesitate to break his usually gentle demeanor if she ever finds herself in some serious trouble.
Story Update: Tba.
Reihana Czajka
[ Close Friend from Childhood. ]
Jun holds a lot of respect for Rei, he sometimes sees her like another dear little sister due to the fact that she does a lot of genuinely kind favors for him and for his sister, Nico. That, and the fact that she's another frequent visitor to their childhood house while growing up, apart from Kiri. Jun really hopes that Rei accepts her feelings for Nico soon, he already sensed it from the start that this would happen since Nico and her have always been inseperable from the beginnings of their relationship.
Story Update: Jun and Rei have met up quite a number of times while Kiri was still under the radar, and Nico being away for her instagram photoshoots. After Jun's companion 'Lao' was cast under some sleeping death spell, Jun brought Lao over to Rei's flower shop so she can take a look at him and potentially find a cure to wake him back up.
Ever Aida
[ Close Friends. ]
If Jun had to pick someone from his friend group that can be considered a twin to him in spite of their gender, Ever is that perfect match. Ever seems to be into the same interests as he is, ranging from anything cultural and vintage, to playing an instrument, to listening to similar music artists, art, and she also enjoys learning languages for fun! The one thing Jun is not afraid to admit is that Ever is better at him when it comes to learning languages, since she knows at least eleven of them in comparison to the four he currently knows. But she seems very modest in comparison to himself, so Jun is doing his best to help Ever overcome that.
Story Update: Tba.
Saeki Rai
[ Friend! / Levi's Dance Partner ]
A really kind young lady that Levi recently partnered up with after leaving the Crow's Nest for strictly personal reasons. Because Levi knew so many people beforehand, he wanted to help Saeki make her dreams of making a big-named dance company become much bigger. That's as much intel Jun knows of right now, otherwise, he genuinely does like her. Even if she's a few years younger, sometimes he feels like she is a big sister figure especially if she brings up brief lectures about trival things unrelated to dance and costume-making.
Story Update: Tba.
Hyeon Seo
[ Work Friend. ]
The closest work friend he made during his brief trip to South Korea. Jun initially came to the country just to see the sights while also promoting his White Noise album through various events (photoshoots, banquets, live concerts, etc.), eventually meeting Hyeon in the midst of the unreal experience. He has always been one of his greatest supporters, and when they have a chance to do so, they like to go hang out at ice cream parlors together.
Story Update: Tba.
Hyun Seo
[ Dance Studio Member / Hyeon's Little Sister ]
Hyeon introduced Jun to her, and unsurprisingly enough, the two of them warmed up to each other very fast. Hyun definitely reminds Jun of his own sister, Nico, due to the fact that she has so much chaotically fun energy to her. He has had Hyun meet Nico already, they seem to vibe well together which is a good thing. Nowadays the most common sight he sees her is through Levi and Saeki's dance academy.
Story Update: Tba.
Lou Craon
[ Acquaintance / Aria's Friend ]
Has seen Lou quite a number of times already through Levi and Aria- two friends he knows pretty well. Both Jun and Lou had some brief, but recent interactions with each other, since he has learned alongside Levi that he's staying away from his own residency due to personal matters going on. One day he passed out while watching Jun and Levi practicing a routine for one of Jun's upcoming concerts, so they both bundled him up with a soft, plush throw and a lot of pillows. Cute pillows that Jun conveniently seemed to have.
Story Update: Tba.
Aria Manoban
[ Casey's Investigative Junior ]
One of his youngest friends, Jun will not stop being impressed over how strong-willed and mature Aria even is, even after discovering the truth to his sister's incredibly sad fate. Just like the others, Jun is one of the most active individuals that tries to keep Aria company as much as he can since he started to live alone.
Story Update: Tba.
Kambei Sakai
[ University Friend. ]
A friend he made through his university days! Kambei seems to remind Jun so much of Kiri, he's a gentle soul that loves animals, but in his case he wants to have his own doggy empire one day that mirrors Kiri's desires to have a kitty empire. Kambei's also very good at impersonating people, and has the natural gift of changing his voice to sound like anyone he knows, cartoon and anime characters included. He's also the focal point of Azza's affections, another good friend of his from those days.
Story Update: Tba.
Lydia Shim
[ Casey's Little Sister. ]
Unfortunately at this time, Jun and Lydia have not quite interacted as much yet, as she seems more focused on getting to know Casey and Quinn- Casey and Lydia's younger brother. Though Jun does seem to have a first impression of her, Lydia seems more carefree than Casey, but equally as determined as he is.
Story Update: Tba.
Ichika Shim
[ Lydia's Roommate ]
Doesn't have that much interactions with her either, but he is aware of the fact that this girl currently lives with Lydia. He heard about it through Casey. Seems a little mysterious in Jun's eyes, but at the same time...a curious soul.
Story Update: Tba.
Jayce Brisbois
[ Acquaintance / Ever's Model Friend ]
Has seen Jayce a few times at a couple of social gatherings. Jun doesn't know her very well yet, but it looks like she's good friends with Ever. Jun does find it cute that she gets so flustered around the golden girl's presence!
Story Update: Tba.
Escher Durante
[ Friends? (Kind of) ]
He is Lia's closest friend, he's sharp-witted and brave. But due to the fact that he's been raised in the darkness for way too long, he really doesn't know how to be gentle with people full of optimism. Full of vibrance. Thus, him and Jun more often than not have very polarizing viewpoints, with Jun being more of the optimist and Escher being more of a pessimist. To say Jun still is a bit scared of his temper is...a bit of an understatement. But for Lia's sake, he's slowly trying to help her get Escher's head back on straight even if he's afraid.
Story Update: Escher recently has been showing some remorse for Jun ever since his falling out with his master, Alphonso. Finally realizing that Jun was much of a victim in this situation much like the celestial sandman himself. During Christmas 2018, Escher finally had the guts to make amends with Jun through a letter he stashed into his present, since he was too shy to speak up about it in person. Jun already has since forgiven Escher and his terrible actions, and he hopes that, for the future, they can become good friends too just like he's been with Kiri.
