Effie, the Artificial Spirit (Robot + Spirit) Kindred, is a 3’4’’ tall little white girl. She has vibrant yellow hair with an open-curtain bang, dual twisted braids, and a blue hair ribbon. She wears a custom-designed knitted blue cloak over a black undersuit. Effie resembles a little girl with green pastel starry eyes and a strange runic symbol on her forehead. However, she is a mechanical doll (robot) infused with a living spirit. What makes her different from a normal mechanical doll—besides the spirit inside her—is that she was given sentience by the spirit and personally handcrafted by Ruina (The Ascended Crowned) as a way for her to make herself a friend: Effie. Ruina taught Effie what she needed to learn before eventually letting her be free to do as she pleased and explore the world. Still, Effie always returns to visit Ruina in the Kingdom of Runes to tell her about her life and even stays there for a couple of years before eventually leaving again.

Effie comes across as very sarcastic and extremely calm, even in the most serious situations. She sometimes has a bratty tone when people don’t see the obvious (or know something she knows), and she often loudly bursts out mockery in her comments. However, she is very sweet and genuinely caring around those who cherish and treat her well, and she will definitely return the kindness. Effie also speaks in the third person. Not just when talking to herself or commenting out loud, like “Effie doesn’t like the sun in her face,” but because she finds it more confident to do so. Effie also has the mindset and mentality of a child, despite being hundreds of years old; to her, she is still considered a child.

Effie is Ruina’s best friend. Despite how they talk like they are the closest of friends, regardless of their ranking in the world system, Ruina has always insisted that they are just friends and nothing more. Once, Effie believed Ruina to be her creator, but Ruina denied it, saying she was just a friend helping her. Because of this, when Effie goes out into the world, she has a mission to find her creator and thank her. Ruina knows this but doesn’t tell her, because that would limit her journey of exploring the world.
