She acts very dismissive towards people who try to talk to her and most conversations with her never go beyond simple banter . She is popular but for all the wrong reasons, constantly having unrealistic standards put infront of her by peers. She constantly is faced with harassment for the slightest of things due to her popularity; something that she has learned to get used to.

Samantha has been providing for herself for just about all her life, working at a small surfboard shop her aunt owns. Her father an alcoholic; mother working shifts until late at night as an emergency responder. Under these circumstances she has learned independence and how she doesn't need her parents or anyone else around her. Things changed however when her father passed in a car accident; becoming more reclusive, Samantha avoided just about everything that reminded her of her father. Despite the clear disgust she had for him the crash somehow touched her in a way.
