Profile

bio (child): maybe it's cliche to say, but carrie just wants to be an ordinary kid in an ordinary family. unfortunately, this tends to be a bit hard with a family that's almost always on the road, a mom that's a bounty hunter, and a borderline pyromaniac brother. spending most of her time nestled in the back seat of her moms' car on her 3DS, carrie likes to think of herself as a gamer-type kid (or as much as a gamer she can be with no internet and sparse charging opportunities). while it's true that she didn't exactly inherit rosie's adventurous streak, she did inherit pepper's love for tech and is almost as enchanted with the various robot projects pepper's built and left in the car as pepper is. most of carrie's friends tend to be long-distance as she's constantly on the move (and eat up a ton of LTE, but hey, whatever) and most don't know that she's the kid of a criminal bounty hunter. carrie prefers to keep things this way.

bio (teen): despite carrie's constant complaints and claims as a child that as soon as she grew up she'd be able to find friends and be happy in a heartbeat, carrie is finding that living on her own in an apartment is not nearly as easy as it seems. as she has little social experience outside the online realm carrie doesn't have many (well, any at this point) friends in the real world, and carrie is dreading the moment when she is finally cut off from her moms' money. however, carrie's love of gaming has continued into her adulthood, and she's managed to make a bit of money by programming a few small puzzle games and a visual novel for the app store, with programming help from her roboteer mom pepper. carrie's dream is to get a career in pro-gaming/e-sports, but only time will tell if that will actually become a reality- carrie's not yet sure whether she's inherited the sharpshooter ability of her mother rosie.

bio (adult): while unfortunately carrie's dreams of becoming a pro gamer didn't work out, carrie did end up in a somewhat unique (and definitely not legal) business as an information broker and blackmailer. after somebody broke into carrie's apartment one day and stole as much of her gaming rig as they could lift, a thoroughly terrified carrie set up hidden cameras in her house to catch any further intruders. surprisingly, the same idiot came back the next day to grab the rest of her stuff, and carrie was quickly able to ID the guy. rather than turning to the police, though, carrie decided to nicely ask the man for her gaming rig back directly. with interest. and using the footage of the theft as blackmail. carrie felt like she had really delivered some sort of karmic retribution, and despite her own moral objections, she started to bug the halls of her apartment complex. carrie would inform the spouses of people she found having affairs, inform the landlord of any vandalizers, and blackmail the occassional drug dealer or theft for money (she didn't feel as great about these, but she needed money somehow). after some time, carrie expanded her camera network to public places in the city around her complex, committed to her goal of 'solving' various crimes and wrongdoings without the help of the police.

surprisingly, as some of her 'victims' began to realize what she was doing, carrie got the opposite reaction she was expecting- instead of storming her house in revenge, these people wanted to pay for various footage or information she was able to gather around the city. this was much more financially viable for carrie than blackmailing petty criminals, and her customer base soon spread from random victims to private investigators to larger criminal enterprises. while carrie still spends most of her days and nights curled up in a beanbag on her dual-screen pc, she's flipping through hundreds of camera feeds rather than hammering away at FPS videogames. she likes to think of herself as the eyes and ears of the city, and she's not entirely off-point.

occupation: information broker/blackmailer

hobbies: single-player games, logic puzzles, growing butterflies from caterpillars, wearing oversized geeky hoodies

relationships: most of carrie's relationships are with her direct family, and she has the closest bond with her mom pepper. carrie may seem to be a bit estranged and afraid of her brother alphonse, but really she loves the guy deeply and humors him whenever she can. unfortunately she tends to be a bit of a shut-in outside of her family and so doesn't have many friends. it was somewhat of a miracle that she was actually able to befriend the equally geeky and socially awkward micah, who remains her best pal to this day.

carrie is currently dating paloma, who is ironically a private investigator who is okay with carrie's gig as an information broker. the two met over a business deal and their relationship progressed from there. while it can admittedly look like feelings are one-sided at times, as only carrie ever really gets lovey-dovey while paloma remains stone-faced, the pair do genuinely care about each other and are both recluses enough that it doesn't really matter how they present their partnership.

fun fact: while she may vehemently deny it now, carrie was the one who came up with the idea that she and alphonse have matching feathers. there isn't a fascinating story or anything behind the two getting the feathers, though; they just bought them from a big set of feathers on eBay.

because of carrie's somewhat risky career, she is constantly paranoid and has motion-activated alarms on all of her doors. many a neighbor has tried to bring her a holiday gift or pay a friendly visit, only to be greeted with a blaring siren when they creak open the door.
