Personality

She is generally calm and quiet, often very thoughtful to the point of not hearing what others are saying. However, she becomes aggressive when she is annoyed too much, is in a bad mood, or feels attacked. She has sudden mood changes (she can go from the wildest joy to crying in a short time and vice versa, up to the phase of total apathy), experiences emotions in an intense and amplified way and is not always able to control herself and often leaves succumb to them; despite this, she seems to have difficulty understanding other people's emotions (alexithymia) and when she sees them expressing something in front of what she says, she asks "Is that a problem?". When needed, she proves to be eager and generous, even if often she doesn't feel reciprocated in this and when it happens she becomes intractable, capricious, victimistic and self-centered in the face of what she thinks seems unfair: but then, when she calms down, she knows how to control herself and face them as it should.

She's also quite curious: she likes to learn new things when she's interested in doing so. She is quite independent, but also introverted and socially inept: when she tries to make friends she does it awkwardly, but when she succeeds she becomes more outgoing. Although young, she demonstrates a strong intelligence and is sometimes even wise. However, she proves insecure and naive in front of unknown people, but also showing a certain curiosity for them and opening up to them when she is sure she trusts them (although this often causes her trouble). She can't tell lies and is sometimes quite direct and misunderstands what is being said to her, because she doesn't get it right away.

She has learned to adapt even to what she doesn't like: for this reason, despite her condition, she doesn't seem to show that she has too particular needs, and if she does, she prefers not to reveal them so as not to be too much of a burden to others.

Frances has a light white skin, brown hair and green eyes. She has a pear-shaped body and her cup size is B. Her shoe size is 5 (US size).

Frances usually doesn’t pay too much attention to how she dresses: she just needs a pair of comfortable pants in dark color, a t-shirt and an oversize sweatshirt. Most of the T-shirts she has are nerdy-themed. She doesn’t wear makeup, but once a month she goes to get waxed.

Her parents

She doesn't speak too much with them, unless it's necessary; it's not sure if she loves them or not. The only thing that she doesn't like about them is that they have no half measures: they can be overprotective to her or absent. Despite they know her condition, they often don't understand her struggles or misunderstand them. At first she accepts this; when she grows up, her quarrels against them are more frequent.

Dr. Edward Peterson

Probably the first person who tried to understand her. Frances started his meetings after beating a classmate that was teasing her. At first she didn't want to talk to him, because she thought it was like being in detention; then she started to go to his appointments with joy. When she knows that he was about to retire, she cried a lot for this and started what she calls the "grey period" (in which she felt like nothing would help her overcome this). She still thinks about him and remembers her meetings with him.

Margot

Her first friend. Despite being very different to each other, she's the first person who helped Frances in various situations. She also tried to "find her a partner", but it didn't work well. They get separated after they finish high school, because they chose different classes; despite that, they still get in touch.

Phoebe

Phoebe was Frances' main inspiration. She admired her because her cold personality made her not care about other people's feelings. At first she tried to talk to her, but failed because of her clumsiness; after a while, she finally "gained" her trust. But, after a while, Phoebe stopped talking to her and when Frances asks her this, she gave her this answer: "We've never been friends". This made Frances miserable and started to gain trust issues.

Monika

Frances had her in her same class in high school, but never interacted with her. She meets her again in her same university and start to become good friends. Monika is like a big sister to her and comforts her as much as she can. When she saw her drawings, she felt discouraged because she thought that she wasn't as good as her; then she stopped comparing herself to her. Thanks to her, Frances knows why Phoebe treated her bad, since Monika had to do with her too and then being thrown away just like Frances.

Eric and Becky

Frances knows them thanks to Monika; this because Eric was Monika's first partner and now they're just friends. Eric was Frances' first male friend. When they met, Frances said that he was "scary and attractive at the same time" and Eric started to laugh. Thinking he was teasing her, she low-key cried, but then he says sorry to her and explained that no one was so extremely honest with him. They start to hang out together more often, sometimes with Becky, his cousin. Frances considers Becky as a younger sister she never had and, despite some bad moments, she didn't mind her company.
