About
Despite looking thin and generally weak, Orion is one of the strongest Celestials that remains. He's a backline fighter that makes up for his lack of power with creativity, intellect, and speed. He's quick and crafty. However, he's never shown his full power outside of training as it's never been needed. Nor does he like to.
The one defining trait anyone can say about him would have to be his dislike for humans/mortals. He takes his job very seriously and with pride. However, after witnessing what became of Haru and the way Hax has begun to warp-- he decides it's best to keep himself away from humanity. As well as those that come onto his team later. Even those, Aster and Ilista, were once human. Of the two, only Aster is allowed to get close to him thanks to his unyielding loyalty to Orion.
All others he feels can only bring them to ruin-- to distract them from their purpose. Protect them. Save them. Watch over them. He refuses to ever get involved due to his anger and sadness of losing Haru. Yet even that is challenged and maybe, even he can change.
Design
- OG design has circlets. Main design has two ringlets around each finger and toe.
- Cherry blossom earring in rememberance of Haru. Never is seen without it.
- Has no preference for fashion/style. Used to simply dress similarly to Haru.
- Form 2 includes white scales that go around the sides of his face and down his neck. They fade back into the skin near his shoulders.

"It's all for the balance...it comes first."
Orion is as stubborn as he is a perfectionist. If he wants the job done right, he'll typically do it himself. While he's kind to those around him, he keeps himself detached from them in general. The only people he tends to allow in to have a "relationship" with him would be the now deceased Haru, Celeste, and Aster. Otherwise, he keeps on a poker-face. He smiles yet they mean nothing.
That's not to say he doesn't work hard and encourage those to do the same. He cares for the Stars he works over and urges them to continue doing their job more than just to the best of their ability. On the other hand, those that don't follow the rules evoke his full wrath.
As much as he enjoys working, he revels in being able to sleep and get away from the worlds that exhaust him so. The only time he does enjoy more human hobbies is when Haru used to bring him board games back from the worlds he'd visit. The challenges they'd present would give him a thrill and he'd seek to master them. To which Haru would only laugh and bring him a new one.
Regardless, Orion has little comradery around him. While he's a team player on the field, he has little friends otherwise. He keeps Celeste at a distance after Haru is gone. Aster he only allows to get so close, intently reminding himself that he shouldn't allow Aster to get too friendly.
The lack of people that would like to get to know him comes from his quick judgement and assumptions he makes upon someone. This ends with him being wary of others and refusing to get closer (perhaps a bit paranoid in the matter), and couples with his inability to properly express himself. As well as simply choosing not to, to many people around him-- even Aster or Celeste -- as he feels his actions speak for his feelings.
Orion is intelligent and confidence. His maturity sets him above a lot of those he works over. However, his empathy for others is what truly puts his social bar lower than most.

Ball of String
As he usually remains in the backline during a fight, one of his most powerful ability is to weave a web of strings that form a ball of string around himself to absorb attacks that would normally render him immobile. The only downside is it leaves him blind to the battlefield until he drops the skill as well as only being able to keep it up for a short time. It's weak to fire magic but resistant to blunt attacks. The deploy time between doing so is rather long.
Strings
The main form of attack is how Orion can use his strings. He's extremely proficient in setting them up. However, should he have to use them as a reaction or a surprise attack, his accuracy has him relying solely on his luck. Most times he'll miss, it being why he has to have a strategy going into the fight. However, should they do their job-- his strings can be as sharp as knives or as sturdy as adamantite. Changing between these consistencies does have a delay.
Celestial
Traditionally, Orion can only use up to ten strings-- representing his fingers and toes. Upon using his full power he gains ten times that. Despite his low accuracy and ability to use offensive, the strings now react quicker and the delay between changing their consistency is almost non-existent. However, due to only training this ability he has only moderate control over it.
Summary
Life and Loss
Orion, Haru and Celeste became the Celestials to oversee and defend souls across the universe. However, Orion finds his relationship with Haru to be far stronger than any other. The Infernals he doesn't get close to and even Celeste he keeps at an arm's length away. Haru becomes everything to him-- much like how an older brother would feel to a younger. His worry for Haru begins to proceed even his own duties when he learns that Haru doesn't simply visit and protect these worlds-- he's interacting, making friends, and giving no thought to what they could do to him. And Orion blames Hax's friendship with Haru for encourging it.
Orion takes his job very seriously. Yet he doesn't know fear until the day he gets a message from a lowly Star-- that they've seen Haru on the planet he usually visits. He rushes to get there to scold his friend and take him home. Except upon his arrival he sees Haru using all of his power to save a child-- to heal her. And to the side, is Hax, watching it all. He jumps to the conclusion that this has all been a scheme-- a ploy that Hax started-- and rushes forward. He scoops Haru up as he falls to the ground and spirits him off.
Except when he takes Haru to Celeste, she can't heal him. It doesn't even feel like he's there, as if the power is barely there but the soul is gone-- somehow separated from each other. Orion recalls that there must always be a balance. Three Infernals, three Celestials. Therefor, he takes Haru's power into himself to keep that balance.
Humanity
Orion doesn't trust Hax or Kerse. Once Haru is gone he begins to separate it all. No longer do Stars work with Dark Stars. If he knows of it, he admonishes and questions-- if they continue, he doesn't consider them an ally. This only escalates further when the Dark Surge begins to pop up. Their goals to dismantle the power structure and ignore their responsibilities has Orion frequently handling things himself. As well as bringing on two Stars to take Keeper positions. Of which, he begins to rely on Aster the most.
It all comes to a head when he finds a dying mortal with Hax's power signature. Fearing what Hax has in store, he essentially kidnaps Zye and erases any memories that relate back to Hax (as well as those that include Jace and Callua who he knows aren't mortal). He plans to keep Zye at his side until he can decide what to do with him. Killing him is the first plan until he's stopped by Celeste, demanding he do something else now that Charmilla can't assist them.
Except he begins to bond with Zye. He gets used to him and finds he might be able to rely on him just as he does Aster. The only thing that keeps him from telling Zye the truth is that he'd side with Hax-- much like Haru always did when they'd argue. So instead he continues to lie until the truth has to be told. Even then his little lies sprinkle through their interactions-- not wanting to get attached further now that he assumes Zye will want nothing to do with him.
Onward
With everything behind him, Orion has to come to the realization that assisting in defeating Kerse doesn't right his own wrongs. What he's done only added to the aggression. While he stays on as a Celestial, he knows he has a lot to try and work on if he wants to be able to live to make up for what he's done. That he became what he disliked. To start, he steps away from power in general and allows most of the others to work things out. He puts in his opinion but tries not to get as frustrated when something doesn't go his way.
Slowly, he works himself back into the mold that these new friends create. While he still struggles with dealing with them in his own way and not getting overwhelmed by all of their personalities. Regardless, if he does, he can usually be found either in his room alone or with Aster.
A relationship that has a chance to blossom further should he allow himself to tend to it more.
Relationships
Celeste
Friend
Orion has always held Celeste in high respect. They are both wise and kind. He respects them even further when they don't belittle him once they take control over Noctis after the whole situation has been dealt with. Once peace is setling in, he reaches out to Celeste more and more-- relying on them more than he had before.
Aster
Friend
Aster is the only former mortal that he spends his time with other than working. The trust Orion places him is more than either of them probably realize. Their teamwork is on par as well despite Aster's laziness towards wanting to do anything. If there's anyone Orion feels he can rely on, it's him. Having Aster by his side means more than he could ever express.
Zye
Friend
Originally, they don't get along very well at all. Even by the end they simply don't know what's to become of their relationship; can they repair their friendship? Nonetheless, Orion isn't sure if he wants to or if he should let the bridge they formed grow cold as well as cracked. Yet he knows he'll work with Zye to get to the ends they need to reach and then maybe he can fix things.
