Backstory

Prince Snatcher has haunted the kingdom of Subcon ever since he was killed over 400 years ago.
...
He used to be known as Prince Kristopher when he was alive. Heir to the throne and brought up as a fine gentleman, he was destined to be King and rule the kingdom of Subcon, which he loved dearly. Fate would have it that he met a princess from a northern magic kingdom, her name was Princess Vanessa. Kristopher was immediately infatuated, drawn to her for kind nature and gorgeous beauty. Unfortunately, this princess was really just rotten to the core, spoiled, manipulative, and a conniving liar. Poor Kristopher was blinded by his love, and ignored these flaws, convinced the nice girl he met her as must still be in there somewhere. Vanessa became jealous as Kris went off to a neighboring kingdom to study law and magic. She constantly accused him of being unfaithful, and had plans to make him stay forever on his visit home for the holidays.

When Kris came back to Subcon to visit his princess, he thought it a good idea to purchase flowers for Vanessa, and bought them from a local shopkeep run by a young lady. Vanessa had happened to see this from afar, and mistook it for cheating. Her unbridled rage and heartbreak were devastating, and as Kris came home to his castle, Vanessa was there waiting. Her body had become corrupted with magic, her hatred and jealousy overtaking her body. Without getting a chance to explain himself, his princess captured him and locked him in the cellar, hanging him in chains until death.

After he died, his soul roamed around Subcon forest, now a wasteland of ice and death. Vanessa's ice magic had spread from the castle and made his homeland uninhabitable. His mind was clouded and his memories dull, his spirit hadn't moved on due to the trauma he endured. As a desperate ghost, he felt empty inside, and soon gave into the urge to consume other lost souls to fill the void in his heart. He took on a monstrous form, corrupting himself as he consumed more souls. His desperation eventually led him to go after the lost spirits of his kingdom, The Dwellers; souls of the masked children who used to reside in Subcon Village. 

Upon recognizing the traditional Dweller masks and the spirits of his people, he was snapped out of his rampage, feeling lost and sympathetic towards the kingdom he feels he let down. He returned to his place of death, and re-obtained his crown, vowing to do his best to re-create the Subcon Kingdom it was always meant to be.

Unfortunately, being a ghost for hundreds of years and now having a dependency on soul consumption to stay alive doesn't really make you a "good guy". His morals have deteriorated over the years, and he remembers only bits and pieces of his time alive. Now his main focus is keeping his Subconites safe, and trespassers OUT of HIS forest.

Relationships

Prince Moonjumper  [ Rival ]

Snatcher can't stand Moonjumper and his antics, and advises all of his subjects to steer clear of him. Snatcher is constantly annoyed at Moonjumper's attempts to take over Subcon Forest, fully believing that MJ is just some sort of "imposter" that's pretending to be him. Since MJ is trapped in The Horizon, he's not much of a threat to Snatcher and his kingdom. However if he manages to get free of his realm... it doesn't bode well for Subcon Forest. For this reason, Snatcher makes sure Moonjumper isn't able to contact anyone, especially not his minions.

Spark  [ Head Minion ]

Previously known as Robyn, Prince Snatcher gave her the nickname "Spark" after initially snaring her into a contract. He got lucky and was able to trap this ghost dragon into servitude for the rest of her undead days. After some years he came to respect her and her care for the other minions, and promoted her to "Head Minion". Hat Kid's influence on Prince Snatcher's feelings has led him to feel quite fond of Spark.

Hat Kid  [ "Best Friend" ]

Prince Snatcher initially tried to trick Hat Kid, steal her soul, and take her Time Pieces. The alien girl proved to be more capable than he imagined, and defeated him, creating a contract of her own that labeled them as "Best Friends". He didn't take it seriously, but after they saved the world together and she was about to leave... Prince Snatcher found himself not wanting her to, and stopped her. Hat Kid now takes up residence in Subcon Forest, where she's parked her Spaceship. Prince Snatcher insists she's only allowed to stay because she promised to do chores for him.

Queen Vanessa  [ Ex-girlfriend ]

Once madly in love with her before her corruption, Snatcher now has mixed feelings about the witch locked in his old home. She's remained in her manor, a cocooned ice cavern ever since she turned into a dangerous monster. Prince one day hopes she can be saved, but doesn't dare go near the manor himself, and has yet to find any sort of cure.
