See, the body you're seeing is merely a sock puppet type projection of his actual body that emanates from the shadow he casts, somehow. His shadow is a portal to his realm, which... is a scary place. Don't go there carelessly, and he'll notice if someone's treading on his shadow, and end up sinking in it. Awkward. Don't try to fight it.

In any case, he doesn't mean harm! He likes to take things apart to see what makes them tick, and then puts them back together... well, to the best of his abilities. Bless him, he tries.
