Character

Early Life

Pastel Dancer was born to Obsidia, a hippogriff. Her father was never mentioned in her household, and even if she wanted to find out any information about him Pastel Dancer didn't live anywhere near other hippogriffs. The only thing she could guess was that he was some kind of unicorn, because she didn't have the wings of a usual Hippogriff but a spiral horn instead. From a young age she lived with her older sister Violet Night with the Seaponies, often mingling with griffons who lived on a sea cliff. Being partially bird and partially fish, Pastel Dancer couldn't help but notice her differences between herself and the other races. Often called "ugly duckling" or "Squeaky Seagull" after her bird-like features while she was underwater, Pastel Dancer got her rebellious streak at a young age. Her only friends were the twins Aqua Dust and Ocean Star, who introduced her to music as a getaway. That's when both sibling pairs got together and formed a punk-rock band 'Ocean Stone'. Though she learned to play the flute and other instruments, they didn't quite work underwater so Pastel Dancer resorted to honing her vocal talents. Pastel Dancer considered herself to be a Jack-Of-All-Trades because of this.

Band Life

At first they just played locally, but they decided to invest all of their meager wages from gigs into lecklaces that would allow them a more comfortable transition to their land-forms. They then went all over Equestria, playing wherever anyone would hire them until they got quote the cult following. Though not incredibly well-known, they are enjoyed all over the continent.
