Aretty had a good life growing up, despite everything. Given her cuff, working for the libraries that held the secrets of the world, falling in love, it was a serene and peaceful life. Then her husband went to war and she followed him into battle, hiding her features to disguise herself. What she saw horrified her. Atrocities that which the commonfolk have never seen, genocide and terror, murder and famine, so many things happened on that planet and she lost sight of everything eventually. When she came to after becoming blind, she was sent home, only to discover her husband had also died during the war. Shaken, she can never forget its horrors and so lives a life forever mourning and forever depressed.
