Mathew Croson's Links
Mathew feels close to Esmera. He knows very well he shares blood with neither of his caretakers, but Esmera has that greener color that has a closer resemblance to his own. He finds slight comfort in the feeling that he doesn't feel so out of place around her. He feels safe.
Caretaker
Mathew hasn't had the best bond with Varrek. Maybe it was noting that most of the time that he could remember, his Rustblooded caretaker had no legs and glowed. But... it was actually just the lack of interests. Sure they were both equally quiet at times, but Mathew was more social than his rustblooded caretaker. It wasn't obvious the two shared an awkwardness thick enough to cut with a butter knife. But... they had a small and almost unnoticeable bond between each other. Mathew does care for Varrek, even if he doesn't know how to show it.
Caretaker
Mathew thought Milena was... kinda a massive pain in the ass. But he saw good in her, he saw the potential sweetness that laid under a thick layer of sour and bitter hate towards others. Mathew made it a note to take it slow and the two would make a small small talk and have that grow into conversations that might've lasted all day if Milena didn't have a job. Mathew developed his feelings a bit after the 2nd session started. He just hoped he wouldn't fuck anything up.
Milena's feelings towards Mathew have only grown more muddled and complicated as time as gone on. Originally, she hated his guts just like with Jasper and Oliver, and wanted absolutely nothing to do with him. But she started to warm up to his presence a little more as Athena focused more on hating Japser as opposed to Mathew, and she's had a few good conversations here and there with him. She admires his amazing coding and game design skills and sometimes asks for hints and help with his game to give her an advantage...even though she doesn't really always get a helpful answer. In more recent perigrees, Milena is on fairly neutral grounds with Mathew, and honestly appreciates his generosity and acceptance, and especially his endurance with putting up with her moody, flippant self. She wonders if she'll ever be truly close friends with him in the future, or perhaps more, or if something will happen to crash, burn, and destroy her tolerance for him and leave her viewing him as a pure enemy as she once did before.
