Some wonder why Peacemaker rarely resorts to violence.

Peacemaker's power is that of conjuring energy, and while this has many applications, he pretty much uses it soley for one purpose, his wings. His wings are made of pure energy and he uses them for mobility. Peacemaker isn't quite as fit as other superheroes, and would have trouble getting around quickly if he couldn't fly.

"This is going to hurt me more than it'll hurt you."

However his energy powers can also be used for violence, but he very rarely does use them for this purpose. He can only conjure energy blasts from his eyes or the center of his chest (where the red heart is positioned). These can be devastatingly destructive at their worst, able to topple buildings and incinerate an entire city block. At their tamest they are still powerful enough to scorch and blast back a heavy-set person several feet, and can be fatal at point-blank range. His eye blasts are just slightly tamer than the one from his chest.

Violence hurts him, literally.

This is because, the catch to his powers are that they are extremely harmful and painful to himself, almost as much as they are to his enemies. Even the shortest, least powerful blast he can conjure from his eyes leaves him dazed and unable to see for a few seconds, which is extremely detrimental in battle. A powerful blast from his eyes can leave him partially or fully blind for a few days, as well as having a possibility of knocking him out. Blasts from his chest are even more dangerous, a small blast can cause his heart to beat irregularly for a few seconds, and in a worst case scenario, stop entirely for a bit. This can cause him to become weakened, confused, or even black out during battle. Anything stronger than a medium sized blast (strong enough to decimate a building) Can cause him to have seizures, go into cardiac arrest, and/or fall into into a coma, if it doesn't kill him instantly.

However, not all is lost. When everything is calm and he is away from violence in a quiet, stress-free place, his body will naturally begin to repair the damage done to it. Depending on his location and the severity of his wounds, it can take anywhere from a few hours, to a few days, to a few weeks.

Peace heals him.

Values human life and accepts that violence is sometimes necessary, but will make any attempt in his power to avoid violence. Has been known to keep rather even-headed, even in situations where most would panic. He values order and happiness and sees villains as just normal people who have fallen into an unfortunate situations, rather than someone to be feared and fought against. However, he values peace above all else. He will do anything to keep it... Even if that means destroying those who disturb it.
