Karin Nagamine is the only survivor of the Nagamine family massacre, the sole heir to the Nagamine Research facility and all its assets, and currently working for Overhaul.
Karin stands in a bit of a short stature at 5'6", but adds two inches when wearing her white heels. Her hair is that of an auburn shade that is incredibly curly, grown down past her waist. She has a few locks of it framing her fast and moved over her shoulders onto her chest, with the rest pulled and pushed back by a white head band. Her skin is fairly pale, considering she spends most of her time indoors. her eyes are a teal-ish blue, with the color seeming to blend into three different shades. Her normal outfit consists of a white button up top with and opened up V-neck shaped top and puffy sleeves, tucked into the waist of a black pencil skirt, a white choker around her neck, and black tights with a pair of two inch white heels. Often times she will be seen with a clipboard and pen in her hand as well, always seeming to be doing some kind of work.
Karin is a calm and rational young woman who will often times try to look on the more logical side of things if possible. This is less because of her grand deal of intelligence, inherited from her father and grandfather, and more because she has little to no understanding of even her own emotions. Mostly because of having very few important emotional interactions and connections outside of just her family, such as being bullied as a kid or being used by others as she grew up. This immaturity and nonunderstanding is what leads her to be easily manipulated by Overhaul, feeling that with her family gone, no title to her name, and nothing left, there is truly nothing he can gain from her and thus actually cares about her.
Despite all that, she is rather caring to the people around her who DO matter. The one to normally step up first and volunteer to help do almost anything if someone she cared about needed it. Her research work is important to her and thus she will throw herself into it, to the point of staying up days at a time to make sure it's finished, and done correctly to a perfectionists level. And, if something fascinates her enough, she will sit and study on it until she knows as much as there is to know.
When it comes to Overhaul, she is completely and utterly devoted to him, in love with him, and wants nothing more than to do right by him. She's attached herself to him, as she feels he understands her and truly cares for her. And thus, she wants to return that same understanding and care. She helps him by doing her own research for him or looking at anything he asks her to, and genuinely just enjoys being in his company.
Karin was born to the very prestigious and widely known quirkless Nagamine family. A family set in the research and development for all things medical specifically for Quirks. The company had started with her grandfather, a medical genius that had been interested in the complicated ways Quirks worked and how they would react to medicines. His son, Karin's father, was born with the same medical prowess and joined into the company, later marrying Karin's mother (another high name in the medical field). The Nagamine family line has focused solely on different disease affecting different Quirks, Quirk suppressing medications and devices, medication made from Quirks, etc. Even from its early years, the company has worked closely with companies of the Heroes Association to provide medical services to their Pro-Heroes, as well as services/devices to help control Villains under custody.
While Karin's family has always worked closely with Heroes and been friendly with them, her getting to meet and know many growing up, she never truly liked Heroes. In fact, she has a great deal of dislike for the culture of Heroes and Villains. She's only ever seen it all as trouble; Heroes chasing after Villains, Villains cause more trouble in response, just for the Heroes to chase harder and the Villains to cause more trouble, so on and so forth. She's felt such a way since she was a child, first hand witnessing damages caused by fights with none other than the "Symbol of Peace", All Might, and only able to think of how much damage he was causing, instead of any kind of "Peace". But for years, she has been good at hiding it, knowing that as her parents only child and raised in the same medical field that she would take over the research and company. Though, despite disliking the culture, she is fascinated by quirks. She would have to be close to Heroes, provide them help, and design new medicines and devices with the research their family worked towards. However the Heroes weren't the only ones with their eyes on the family as Karin grew up.
Karin's childhood alongside other kids helped contribute to the attachment issues she would later face. Being one of the very rare minority of Quirkless people, she was very often pushed to the side by her peers. She grew to learn to be independent at a young age and threw herself into not only her studies, but the works of her family's facilities and research as well. This isn't to say she didnt have friends as a kid, but she always knew they werent actually her friends. Kids would latch onto her and hang around her as she got older because of the status of her family and her own title within that. Always wanting something so faked any sort of positive attention towards her, which she learned to withdraw from others as she knew people were just using her. As most often did.
It's no surprise to anyone that Villains had always had their eyes on the Nagamine family and the results of their research for many years. Experimental medicines and devices that could be sold on the black market, a large home with millions of dollars settled within, just to name a few things that Villains and criminals of all kinds coveted of the family. And there was one Villain that had his eye on the family, focused specifically on their deep research into Quirks and the information they held. Working on his own plans to eradicate Quirks, one had been fairly intrigued for a long period of time. Because of the obsession of her family and their work, it was no wonder when a large group of them finally decided to descend on the family home when the three were there when Karin was 24, unable to get into the facility first. There is very little Karin remembers of the event, only that the group of Villains invaded her home and attacked her family, demanding things of their research and taking things that weren't nailed to the floor. In the break in, her parents ended up killed by the villains and she was left near death herself, the villains sure that she wouldn't be able to survive after the aggressive assault. None of them were expecting for the villain Overhaul to make a house call.
In an attempt to scavenge whatever information or research that might have been left in the house, if there was any at all after overhearing a group would be invading the Nagamine household that night, he and his own group went to the family home. It was in their search that they came across Karin, alive but just barely. While she could have been left to die, leaving nothing to connect back to Overhaul, he realized the fact that she would be left sole control of the company and all its information should she stay alive. And it was here that he began his plans to manipulate and use this chance to get more information than he ever could have gotten from scrounging around the torn apart house. All he would need to do is keep her alive and under his thumb. And so he did just that.
Taking her back with them, Overhaul was able to heal up her wounds (but only enough to keep her from death, leaving the next few months for her to not only heal naturally but to give him time for his manipulation). When she finally woke up and was coherent enough, Overhaul proceeded to string together the tale of her parents death (telling her he had tried to save them as well but it was too late), he had been nearby when the attack happened near the end and had found her, bring her back to help her, and the reason he had yet to contact police about her was because if other Villains knew she was still alive, police or not, heroes or not, they would be after her to kill her, and in her current state she would be a sitting duck for them to find. Of course she was hesitant at first, but being as weak as she was and him being the only one able to help her, she had no choice but to trust him, but the more time spent with him and the more they spoke about different things, including his goals and their current society, she found there was quite a few things they had in common. Including their feelings on Heroes, Villains, and Quirks. And it didn't take long being there that she grew closer to him and convinced herself that he had saved her life, she owed him a great deal, as well as growing to enjoy his company, eventually developing feelings for him (though their relationship and her feelings for him were definitely not healthy in any sense).
With his manipulation over her, he was able to convince Karin to stay with him and continue doing her own research there, giving him insights to the things all the research came out with and began to help him with his work. And, still successfully manipulating her, he continued feeding into her unhealthy romantic interest for him for the information she found for him, meanwhile denying his own very small developing feelings for her.

UA High School
Ophelia Lovelle (No Longer attending): A young girl that came to her family's facility to test, research, and help her chaotic quirk. The two grew close and attached to one another, becoming basically like that of sister's during her time with them. She cares about Ophelia deeply, just wanting to help her. She misses her deeply and wonders how she's doing, being unable to contact her while continuing her work with Overhaul.

Villains
Kai Chisaki (Overhaul): Currently working for him, continuing her familial medical research of Quirks under his watchful eye, and in a relationship with him. She's dedicated to him completely, having fallen in love with him during her time with him and feeling like she owes him her life. She does what she can to please him and loves him, enjoying the small moments she will get just the two of them. Towards her, Overhaul seems to have a great deal of protectiveness/possessiveness, probably more so than any other feeling he shows for her, regardless of the situations they're in, that grew more and more over the time of her being there in the Shie Hassaikai.
- Karin actually very much understands her feelings for Overhaul aren't healthy, that her love for him is almost obsessive, but cares too much about him and the small bits of care he shows her to risk losing him.
- While she dislikes the Hero/Villain Society, she doesn't dislike Quirks, and is actually really fascinated by them, especially being quirkless herself.
- There is very few instances where Karin got to meet Eri, never knowing what it was Overhaul was doing to her, and the two had gotten along quite well within those times.
- Her first name is pronounced "Kah-Rin"
- After a time of being with Overhaul, by his encouragement, she began to wear a small gun strapped to her thigh beneath her skirt for use of protecting herself if he wasn't around, having taken time to show her how to use it.
- She's essentially addicted to coffee and coffee flavored things.
- Kain absolutely hates being interrupted from her work, even if she's sleep deprived from doing it so much, and will often times try to find excuses to keep going until she's either forcefully dragged from it or Overhaul orders her to stop.
