Kiron is an eatharyian hacker who is permanently linked through artificial telepathy to the two sentient AIs Xroah and Kahtyo, and later takes on the role- though perhaps in name only- of the captain of The Misfit.
After her father's untimely death she was either liberated or kidnapped by
Skorr, who, for reasons still shrouded in mystery and doubt, linked her to his pair of hand crafted AIs who were just as naive and troubled as she was. They discovered the world together and gradually provided the support necessary for Kiron to overcome her paranoia, though this clear state of mind would only last if they remained linked, robbing all three of them of their independence. They were raised by the so called *anarchists of Griiyl, and thus, had picked up on their ideals and followed along in their ambitions and lifestyle.
The destruction of her people's
civilization coincided with an attempt to steal a device capable of timer travel, leading to the derailment of their plan. Kiron and her counterparts had taken hold of the device, only to receive a indecipherable line of code and a simple choice: accept or decline. A timer ticked down, leaving them with mere moments to decide. In retrospect, the second option hadn't even been necessary.
Through
Tsoras's warping of fate, Kiron had been spared. She found herself in a port city far in the future among an all new cast of cultures with a new adventure just around the corner.

Appearance

Kiron is dark skinned and somewhat tall with an agile yet surprisingly strong build. She isn't especially well endowed but still remains unmistakably feminine.

Her hair, both in color and style, is highly recognizable; It is thick and somewhat coarse without being curly or frizzy and is colored a dull pink. when not braided, her hair appears as a long mohawk though with the sides of her head unsaved, but rather simply cut very short. Markings consisting of rectangular bars, triangles, and dots are usually shaved onto the left side of her head. Kiron's mohawk is most often French braided and held in place by her hair charm. Alternatively, her is left down, braided in a more simple manner, or swept to one side- most often the right side.

The color of Kiron's eyes are best described as multi-colored and iridescent; depending on the lighting and angle different colors are more apparent in different locations. The colors don't fully blend together but instead are visibly separate. The darker outer ring or her iris, or limbal ring, is quite pronounced and just as colorful, merely notably darker. This ring usually fades with age yet persists for Kiron. The colors that make up her eyes are as follows:

Pale sky blue, a light pink just slightly brighter than her hair color, slightly faded yellow, hints of light blue-green due to the blending of yellow and blue, hints of a pinkish orange due to the blending of pink and yellow, and hints of lavender due to the blending of blue and pink.

**Thin dark purple triangular lines sit over her eyes with no outlined border.

**A smaller marking on her right cheek consisting of a hollow dot, two lines bent at a right angle hovering apart from the dot, and a third straight line that is detached further from the dot than the other two. These are all quite thin and colored black. The entire marking is at an angle.

**Both of her arms are lined with thin rectangular boxes with varying designs n them. these boxes are apparent no matter if one looks at the outside or inside of her arm, and are integral to both designs if drawn separately. The outside of her arm is covered in a vertically aligned pattern relatively common to the eatharyian culture; the circles with triangles and pseudo-triangles drawn into them connected by lines, symbols, swirls, and dots. These are likely brightly colored. The inside of her arm features a decorative plus symbol along the same vertical path that the other side of the pattern takes. Intermingled with these symbols are written notes: equations, quotes, laws and the like. The text is in eatharyian, so looks decorative, purposeful, and foreign to those who can't read it. It is carefully written in a fine, elegant yet practical style. no two notes repeat on either arm, just as no two circular symbol repeats. Black is likely not the color used as an outline.

**On [one?] of her shoulders ais a Fibonacci spiral; the spiral is duplicated by three and interlaced with related geometric shapes. Though merely made up of lines, the complexity and accuracy of the spiral even on such an non-level location speaks to either an artful hand or impressive technology- perhaps even both.

**Along her upper back stretches an asymmetrical swirl partially split into two. Seeming to fall from the right, non-spiraled part of this swirl are a sequence of geometric shapes grouped up to form rectangular boxes. At the end of each box is a more pronounced geometric shape and either a thick, uneven oval-line, a swirl, or a squiggle. To the bottom right of the spiral part of the swirl is what appears to be a simplified, uneven exploded circle.

Usual Attire [Post-Abduction]: Wears pants, simple shirt.

Personality

Kiron often lies in the middle of two extremes of Kahtyo and Xroah; she is quite stubborn, a bit prideful and closed off, laid back when she can afford it, and clever.

Often succumbs to hesitation, as she has trouble with making decisions on her own. if a consensus can't be drawn in time between the three of them, then she will occasionally end up doing absolutely nothing. This is something that haunts all three of them, though in somewhat different ways.

Somewhat inconsistent, and her mood is easily changed a little quicker than it really should.

Despite her confident exterior Kiron herself is plagued by fear and uncertainty.

In Accordance to the Standard Eatharyian Disposition: She is highly curious, to the point of such a thing occasionally putting her at a disadvantage. She desires a certain amount of control and knowledge over her situation and environment even more so than is average for an eatharyian.

Belief System and General Philosophy: Kiron's belief system is characterized by a lack of a philosophy and the disregard for requiring one. It is in it's very essence a neutral state and view on existence; the universe is here, she is here, so she might as well do something with the time allotted to her. The past is to be remembered, though not obsessed over, the future is to be taken into account, but not overblown into an intimidating prospect. The here-and-now is to simply there to be lived in. There's no use in pondering on the nature of existence; such insatiable curiosity can only lead to frustration.

Influence

Alone

  • Paranoia:
  • Hesitation:

Voice and Dialogue

In short, Kiron is inconsistent; She has a surprisingly good vocabulary yet rarely utilizes it, and speaks in some slang. She has the tendency to use "Aye" to gain someone's attention, to end a question, or to make some sort of point.
Like most other eatharyians, she does not use placeholder terms such as "Umm," "Uh," "Er," and the like.

Habits

  • Often speaks with energy, though not a point of it being distracting, and makes useless gestures as she speaks, often including the occasional unnecessary twirl or toss of whatever item is currently in her possession.
  • Sometimes she will speak aloud To Kahtyo, Xroah, or even just herself, though usually this only happens in times of stress or excitement.
  • She will occasionally make note of things in her environment that seem not to be there; this is due to controlled hallucinations on Xroah and Kahtyo's part. This is also tied to the occasional talking to herself.
  • She will sleep for only the necessary amount of time, and if told to wake someone up, she will avoid it.
  • When in particularly engaging thought she may pace around an area; this is a relatively common eatharyian habit.
  • Tends to use the term, "aye," when trying to get someone's attention or at the end of asking a question. This is a habit she picked up from Xaen.
  • If nervous, anxious, or stressed, she will often fidget with something, usually her hair or the trim of her clothes. If the behavior gets pointed out she is likely to cease doing it.

Habits [Alone]

  • She will refuse to sleep, and will even resort to ridiculous means to avoid it.
  • Checking and rechecking her environment is a common occurrence despite knowing that nothing has actually changed.
  • Fidgeting with objects, her clothing, her braid, and the like.
  • Pacing around an area.

Hobbies

  • Making fun of Xaen for his love of sports.
  • Singing and occasionally playing music.
  • Drawing, most notably on the walls of her room; her art tends to be composed of shapes and patterns such as spirals, fractals, and other abstract sketches.

Likes

  • Music; notably, music similar to the style of The Landing, or music with a more asymmetrical set up with complex harmonies and the like. Vocals are preferred.
  • Being in control of a situation.
  • Understanding things, or as Evvajhnkou would put it; "Understanding the entire god damn galaxy."
  • Determination as a trait displayed by someone.
  • Food in general, but especially popcorn.
  • A healthy amount of freedom, chaos, and conflict.
  • Fractals, Fibonacci spirals, and other shapes with some meaning behind them- as reflected in her numerous tattoos.

Dislikes

  • Religion as a whole, though she will only be hostile about it if prompted.
  • Being referred to by nicknames; though she gradually comes to terms with putting up with Nathan's handcrafted titles.
  • Sleep and dreams.
  • Waking people up or being rudely woken up.
  • Crappy food, which includes pixie vending machine food and pancakes.
  • Having no control over a situation.
  • Anyone unbraiding her hair without permission.
  • The frustratingly unexplained.
  • Being alone.

Goals [Eatharyia]

  • Develop her skills to better assist her perceived family.
  • Provide the much-needed conflict for her people to better socially evolve.
  • Enjoy life!

Goals [Space]

  • Fulfill the wishes posted on the board in the common room.
  • Figure out what happened to her people.
  • Locate- then hopefully visit- the Hyenzei Ithyiir Pocket.
  • Take care of Vos.
  • Be a good captain.
  • Enjoy life!

Stats

In Accordance to the Abilities of All Eatharyians: Kiron is naturally mentally and physically enduring, able to maintain functionality despite the odds. She also has a slight advantage when it comes to pattern recognition, pseudo-multitasking, and general resourcefulness.

Artificial Mental Link with Kahtyo and Xroah: Kiron is linked to Xroah and Kahtyo, two [Sentient eatharyian AIs,] through a sort of artificially induced and maintained telepathy. This link has permanently altered the mindset of each of them and ensnared them into an interdependent relationship, though one that all are happy to be a part of. Their thoughts are intertwined, leading to instant communication carrying with it far more than mere words could. Naturally, this sort of arrangement has a whole host of advantages and disadvantages, as well as benign or subjective side affects.

  • Advantages: Quick communications, observations, reactions, and plan building.
  • Disadvantages: Removing this link results in disastrous effects. Hesitation.
  • Other Things of Note: Privacy of thought, perhaps?

Direct Link to Hyenzei: Kahtyo and Xroah are directly linked to Hynzei, albeit through shady illegal means. This enables them to summon archived objects without needing to worry about as many outside influences or threats. Generally just adds to their efficiency.

Pseudo-Multitasking: Kiron can juggle tasks pretty efficiently both due to her natural disposition and the influence of Xroah and kahtyo.

Skills

Programming: Was taught programming by Skorr with a focus on breaking already established code. her knowledge falters somewhat on the direct coding of [Eatharyian AIs,] as she seems somewhat uneasy about knowing too much on the subject.

Combat: She was taught by Xaen, a somewhat infamous mercenary, of which there are surprisingly few. She picked up his skill set, which revolved around countering the expected skill sets of others, and perfected it with the help of her counterparts. The idea is to be quick and unpredictable, all while studying the opponent to counter their own style and tricks. Their improved reaction time and ability to multitask helps make this strategy highly effective, not to mention the wide array of tools at their disposal.

Tidbits From Her Crew: She gradually picks up on useful skills from her crew members, though most notably engineering form Nathan, piloting from Evvajnkou, and some medical know-how from nu'Una. The idea is that they can preform any of these tasks if they have to, albeit somewhat poorly.

Knowledge

Eatharyia: Being an eatharyian herself, Kiron is privy to knowledge relating to her people, though she still has no explanation on what exactly happened to her civilization. She is aware that Eryx was forced to jump to the future in much the same way that she received an odd line of code, but as to why this happened... she has no idea. Her best guess revolves around a mysterious entity that relates to the universe itself, or... something, but why would someone like that bother? And, what would cause them to do such a thing? The mystery is too frustrating to linger on for any lengthy amount of time, so she avoids in, hoping quietly that one day she will stumble across the answer.

Earth: Through Nathan, Kiron has learned bits and pieces about earth, but the most relevant revelation revolves around the mystery surrounding it's resounding absence in the histories of the galactic community. Kiron's knowledge of the situation is limited by Nathan's, and it's clear that many of Nathan's views have been adopted by her, though not quite with the same passion.

So'Una and Uktari: Kiron is aware of the existence of So'Una due to nu'una's presence on the ship, and through her and Oo'gala, she is also somewhat aware of the war that took place between these two people.

Language: Kiron has picked up on [Space Common,] as well as other little tidbits including plenty of English jargon, though mostly just profanity.

Notable Possessions [Eatharyia]

Her Hair Charm: A futuristic-looking hair tie. The most notable features are the two silver orbs that dangle from the hair tie. Within one of these is embedded a stylus which is exceptionally useful for breaking those pesky eatharyian handcuffs. The stylus can be activated either by mental commands when applicable or by recognizing the makeup of a bit of Kiron's blood. The stylus is only present within one orb, and they both look practically identical to the untrained eye. The stylus, naturally, is difficult to find when investigating the orb, even when technology gets involved.

Quarterstaff : Kiron's staff is her signature weapon, which might be a little funny considering that out of all the potential space-time warping objects she could be armed with, she just has a metal stick. The staff, however, does its job well; it can separate into segments, increase kinetic output making it hit far harder than it should, and be used in tandem with energy-based projectiles. The individual segments can be tracked by Vehtel, meaning that they can be used as a means of keeping tabs on locations within space. Design wise, the staff is relatively simple; it's dull silver with the end of each detachable segments having a metallic purple ring. This staff, like many other of her effects, can be summoned and recalled through their shared inventory.

Three Mirror-Sphere Probes: These spheres appear as floating orbs coated in a reflective sheen broken up by occasional etchings; they display their surroundings in a warped manner due to their shape. These orbs function as probes, able to gather information about the surroundings including location data, footage, sound, and likely temperature. In addition to this, they can project fancy holographic images and output audio. As for defenses, the spheres are usually protected by their own energy shield. This shield can be easily altered to protect better against either physical or energy-based damage. These probes act as an incredibly useful anchor to the physical world.

Three Pairs of Eatharyian Handcuffs: those metal band things used to screw over people. Yeah, those.

Some Handmade Bombs: some handy bombs from Xaen. no implosion grenades though. she no longer has those by space.

Five information-cube things: basically, they're fancy flash drives. can store location-time info. Why cubes though?

Her Gun: Stolen, of course. multiple settings.

Fancy heated knife: Make this.

Two black portal-y boxes: Those black box things that just make instant portals.

Notable Possessions [Space]

Missing/ Expended Eatharyia Possessions: Bombs. She used 'em.

Nathan's Dogtags [Once she is gifted them]: Yeah, those.

Notable Settings [Space]

Her Quarters: One of the larger set, drawings on the wall... Simple bed against the wall, a beanbag chair across from the door usually by the wall, a desk, a dresser.

Story

Childhood [Toriyahn]

Kiron, then named Toriyahn [__], was born to [__] and [__], a couple who were facing strains on their relationship even before they suddenly had to raise a child. Her parents divorced when she was young [7-10?? Uh, ages are hard, okay...] leaving her with her father and a new family name, Qarallyn.

Toriyahn's father was something of an outlier in society; he was a reclusive, nervous man holding onto his faith in a religion that even among the low percentage of eathayians who did consider themselves religious was lesser known and followed. He did not take the divorce well, gradually becoming consumed with the desire to hold onto every little thing he now had left of his wife; he simply couldn't let go of the past, and of her. Toriyahn was all the had left of their relationship, and he was determined to raise her well, to take care of her, and to love her no matter the hardships that his divorce have put onto him. Such a decree wold have been easy to uphold, had Toriyahn not been plagued by irrational fears and thoughts. She was afraid to sleep, and failed to act normally, which did nothing to help her father's state of mind. He abused his occupation as a pharmacist in an attempt to help her himself, fearing in a similar irrational way that he would be reprimanded for how she acted, and that perhaps she would be taken away from him. Likewise, he utilized his sway in his small religious community and general reclusive nature to keep the potential severity of his daughter's condition hidden from others.

Unbeknownst to Toriyahn's father, he had become the target of Skorr himself, searching for some sort of time-sensitive information or access that the pharmacist could offer. The exact account of what happened that night is shrouded in mystery due to a lack of evidence and skewed information. Three main proposals often come up when discussing the end result; Skorr murdered Toriyahn's father, Toriyahn's father committed suicide, or Toriyahn herself played a role in her father's death. In any case, Toriyahn's father was found dead and the available truths of the situation were brought to light. It was considered a preventable tragedy, and something that must never happen again. Attempts to locate Toriyahn were unsuccessful, and she was presumed to have been kidnapped by Skorr.

Childhood [Kiron]

After her father's untimely death she was either liberated or kidnapped by Skorr, who put into action an unconventional solution to her perpetual paranoia; he linked her to his pair of hand crafted AIs, who were just as naive and troubled as she was, in hopes that as a unit they could function normally, if not exceptionally. Trivia

  • Kiron is ambidextrous.
  • Her perception could easily be altered by Kahtyo and Xroah without her realizing, and likewise, the two AIs could very well just be following simple programming. This is one reason why many eatharyians have a deep distrust for them; they may just be a tool crafted by Skorr.
  • As a child, she never even had an idea of what sort of chosen name she wanted.

Quotes and Excerpts

"...We create home, and meet family. We live in the present, for better or for worse. The past is to be remembered, but not so much so as to be corrupting and all consuming. The future is to be thought of on occasion, but not to the point of overshadowing the here and now. This is our philosophy, and thus far, it has worked pretty well."

-Kiron speaking with Nathan in "The Misfits I" [slightly modified.]

"We have rumors? Plural, rumors?"

-Kiron during their first meeting with Isaiy in which he mentions rumors.

“Nathan, you're the only person to ever get away with calling me Pinky; there's a damn good reason for it, you know.”

“You don’t have to worry about us so much, Nathan. If anything, we should be more worried about you. It’s... It’s awful being by yourself, and… well, we’ll do our damndest to be available, so you don’t have to be, you know?”

-Kiron in "Cool Interactions," a noncannon thing where she and Xroah were trying to get Nathan to see his worth.

Author's notes

  • During a silly RP in which Kiron was dragged into a more normal world and took up the job of a cashier in a convenience store, she uttered this quote when asked who she was;
    • "We are Kiron [Vehtel], bringers of chaos to balance our *previous* near perfect society! We are the counterweight to society's scale of morality and acceptance, and we create and control the conflict that is absolutely essential for a society and people to evolve and adapt! We of our small yet widely known and influential organization have CHOSEN this difficult path for the greater good! We believe in freeing what information our fickle, manipulative government chooses to keep hidden behind coded barriers! ...Alas...but not today.Today we conform to the normalcy of human society, announcing discounts on possibly inedible hot dog meat-sticks..."
  • Kiron and her AIs are probably some of my favorite characters.
  • In a non-cannon RP, we set up a fight between an older iteration of Ue'Lara, Kiron, and this reaper dude. It ended with Kiron sishkabobed Ue'lara with her pole, causing Ue'lara to trigger a magic spell that blew them both up. Thus, the underdog reaper won by default.
  • Would be fond of cats if she came across one; They're just so independent, sly, and confident.

Creation

  • Originally her mohawk-braid wasn't going to be set up like French braid, but my dad gave me the idea of changing it to how it appears now.
  • Kiron is based on a doodle; in said doodle, she looked very different. She had shorter hair that was shaved on one side, a blue-grey dress-like outfit, and she was white.
  • Her personality has changed as well; originally she was a little less serious and more outgoing, unpredictable, and kind of crazy.
  • Originally her name was meant to be written out as "K1RoN [Vehtel] but over time I decided against the silly pseudo-leet speak thing.
  • Previously she was had even more tattoos including: A water colored style replicating DNA strand on her right leg, and an abstract circuity pattern on her left leg.

Art

  • Kiron's general demeanor and expression is usually of a sly, over-confident rebel, but can vary. Her poses can be quite expressive, with unnecessary hand movements or her holding an item. It's rare for her to possess a subtle expression, and such a thing is usually when things take a more serious tone. I will happily accept alterations or alternate designs for her clothing. That would be really great actually.
  • Feel free to just... not go into extreme detail. This is most notable with her tattoos, which I can't personally draw well so therefore can't fully design. The same could be said about other vague aspects of her design, and feel free to fill in some blanks if you would like.
  • Her eyes are complicated, but for some help try looking up "rainbow eyes" on Google. They're sort of like that but without an entire rainbow. Feel free to color them simpler if need be as well.

Music

  • Anxieties: Though I relate this song tot he eatharyians in general, there are certain sections that I relate specifically to Vehtel. This song is also a prime example of the kind of music Kiron likes, as well as a good example of something that she would sing or hum.
    • The chorus, nost notably at [2:27-2:56] and [4:00-4:28] I especially relate to Vehtel and their relations with the rest of Skorr's group, most notably "Do you realize what you're made of? Or do miracles hurt your head." I associate this and the similar lines to something that Skorr would question them on, and the later "Do you realize what we're made of? Or do miracles hurt your head."  as Vehtel accepting and passing on this view, that they are collectively something incredibly unique- there will not always be answers for them and they will sometimes just have to find their own solutions.
  • Death By Glamour: The style and separations in this song just match Vehtel all too well. I could see something similar to this being a variation of a theme for them. The section that best relates to Kiron is 1:04-1:30.
  • Good Kid Medicine: I listned to this song a bunch when developing Kiron's character, so now it's just sort of related to her, mostly in the way of her backstory.
  • Electric Angel: Though this song relates more to Xroah and Kahtyo, with certain verses related to each of them separately, it's difficult to link anything to just one of these characters. [*See Kahtyo and Xroah's section on this song for more information if ya want.][*When it exists, that is.]
  • Here Comes a Thought: I relate this whole song to the three of them in a similar way that the song is presented as in Steven Universe; though surely a rare occurrence, the trio do come across their own troubles with how they exist. It also sort of relates to their dependence on one another.
