PERSONAL SKILL

Kinsley has trained most of his life to be a soldier for Sanctus Halisa, and earned a spot as the Royal Bodyguard when he was much younger. As such, his hand to hand combative skills are impressive, being quite tanky. Slow, but a hard hitter.

SOLO SKILL

- Name: Seismic
- Range: limitless
- Influence: As many of the others in the Super Soldier Program, Kinsley gained his Solo Skill at a young age, whilst training.

Kinsley gains the ability of "Seismic," meaning he can 'read' vibrations. He can tell how many people there are, how far away they are, how much they weigh, and which direction they are going. Though his ability is rangeless, it's most optimal when closer than further.

He can also choose the range, but he cannot choose the target. Whoever stands in the range is able to be read- he cannot filter them out to spy on one single person.

LINK SKILL

Kinsley and Ryder
- Name: Mind Reader
- Range: 1 mile
- Influence: A natural thing that happened, both men are part of the Super Soldier Program and become very, very close friends! Their trust in each other and comparability made their Link Skill spawn in the most organic of ways.

Kinsley and Ryder share "Mind Reader" together, and true to its name, it grants them the ability to read minds. 

This is an ability they can turn off and on at will. Once turned on, they can hear all people's thoughts that are within range. However, they can also hear a single target's thoughts if they choose. Each man can choose one person to listen to.

While this single target is being mind read, they must be keeping a line of sight on them. The target does not need to be looking back at them. If somebody else gets between the target and the man, the connection is completely lost and they cannot hear their thoughts any longer.

About

Kinsley was enrolled in Sanctus Halisa's Super Soldier Program as a child, and a few years down the line made friends with a late recruit, Ryder. The two grew up and were noted for being the cream of the crop, with Ryder taking the crown for better offense, but Kinsley having the better defense. Being a late teen, Kinsley was granted a high honor of becoming the bodyguard to the youngest born child of the royal family, Prince Gabriel. 

Between training and learning how to properly become a bodyguard, his young friend Ryder convinces him it's okay to celebrate. To his dismay, Ryder brings him women. At first, Kinsley rejects many of the girls, but one of them eventually catches his eye- or as he says, he finally just gave in. The woman was Maki, a foreign girl who was brought to the kingdom specifically to find a husband to father her children. It was noted she had a particularly powerful lineage. 

Kinsley didn't care much for that though, not wanting a family. But he did give in to temptation, allowing himself to have a few nights alone with Maki. The relationship wasn't official, but it was clear there was at least interest on both sides. Maki left once for a family emergency, came back, and the two resumed their casual yet serious relationship. Maki needs to leave one more time, this time never returning. Kinsley has no clue to this day why she left or where she went, and isn't aware he's a father of two boys by now.

It wasn't enough for Kinsley to let the only girl he ever had feelings for slip away alongside never meeting his children, but he failed in his job, too. Prince Gabriel was but a baby, and theoretically should have been easy to guard. In the middle of the night, he disappears alongside King Gareth. Again, important people in Kinsley's life slipping away.

Kinsley accepted he was going to be executed, but Queen Juliette surprised him by saying she was going to allow him to remain a bodyguard, always waiting for Prince Gabriel's return. However, he had to play a role in a ritual, no questions asked. His loyalty to the crown was already going to make him accept, but dangling his life in front of him only solidified his decision.

Eventually a new foreigner is allowed inside the castle, this time a male named Jonah. The man is a valuable medic, but seems to have a serious head injury and amnesia. Queen Juliette decides to make Kinsley useful, instead of roaming the castle aimlessly and protecting nobody, he was to watch Jonah and help him acclimate to Sanctus Halisa.

Kinsley is one of the people required to make a sacrifice. His target is Jonah, of whom has his stomach ripped open.

Kinsley is one of the people required to make a sacrifice. His original target is Jonah, though it would seem that Orla also considers him an option. He does have a fallback in Ryder, who has left Sanctus Halisa in search of the missing Gabriel, and more importantly here, Arlen.

Relationships

Owen Ryder  [ friend ]

His closest friend in Sanctus Halisa. The two are polar opposites, Ryder being a loud and boisterous man. Though Kinsley often protests, he goes along with Ryder's antics, particularly when he's dragged to the local bar for a night off. Kinsley has his feet firmly on the ground, while Ryder is having a grand time, his head in the clouds. Two peas in a pod, Overall, a close, friendly relationship.

Jonah Harrington [ colleague, almost son-like ]

Kinsley never intended to get close to Jonah, but it was exactly what happened. Jonah was an outsider that was saved after being critically injured. He was carefully watched in the castle, which of course meant Kinsley kept a close eye on him. Jonah survived, and since then the two are often spotted roaming the castle, becoming friends over time. Kinsley worries about him, acting almost like a stern father who isn't good at affection but wanting the best for his child.

Maki Ichikawa  [ lost love, mother of his children ]

When he had met Maki, he thought he'd easily bore the woman and she'd move on to the next man. But instead, he found himself charmed by the elegant yet playful woman. He found himself wanting to talk with her, to spend time with her, and that quickly turned into passionate nights- but never anything quite so official. Because it was never official, she was free to disappear when she felt, but she came back months later, right back to Kinsley. Years later, again, she'd have to return home, but this time never came back. Kinsley often wonders if she's okay, and always assumed something awful had to have happened. Little does he know, she's just protecting their children from the predator he's already a victim to. He may be the bodyguard in this case, but she's likely the only one that holds the key to saving him. 

Ruka  [ biological son ]

Unbeknownst to both Kinsley and Ruka, they're related. There really isn't much more to it at the moment than this. Maki is the mother of his child, and never told Kinsley she was pregnant. She'd never disclose to him that she had little trust in Sanctus Halisa, and a sinking feeling when she thought about Ruka being raised there. She lied about a family emergency, eventually giving birth outside the walls and leaving Ruka to be an orphan in hopes of a better life than being brainwashed or becoming a soldier. Thus, Kinsley has yet to meet his son.

William Lindberg  [ biological son ]

Again, unbeknownst to both Kinsley and William, they're related. Like Ruka, there isn't much more to it at the moment than this. Maki does the same thing with William that she did with Ruka, lying about something outside the kingdom walls and giving birth to William, abandoning him in hopes of giving him a better life. She never returns to Sanctus Halisa though, and Kinsley is left in the dark about his entire family. Kinsley has yet to meet this son either.

Juliette Voz-Ente  [ his Queen ]

Being handpicked by Queen Juliette to be the bodyguard of Prince Gabriel was a high honor that was horribly flubbed. Kinsley assumed he would be executed when Gabriel went missing, but Juliette spared him. Kinsley has no clue what this ritual entails, but agrees to it. Kinsley has great respect for Juliette, but also great fear. There's always a wall with her, like she's somebody he can never understand. Almost an inhuman quality to her, but he's always assumed it's because she's the Queen and has a different set of rules to live by.
