Pascal is the perfect storm. He is a conundrum of emotions and feelings, somebody whose incredibly hard to get along with and even harder to understand. Pascal has never truly understood himself, and never really did find himself being happy or content anywhere. This manifests itself in a variety of odd ways. His train of thoughts can be jumpy, quickly bouncing from one topic to the other. He can come off as quirky or eccentric. It was harmless, just making him a bit strange.

That is until he was given the task of having to find a sacrifice for Queen Juliette. Then, he began to let his unhappiness manifest in cruelty. Pascal has a dark side to him, a desire to make others hurt and feel negative, as he does through life. Finally having some semblance of control- even if it's forcibly over another person- is something that's driving him mad with power.

Pascal is a lanky boy, who looks younger than he really is. He has messy hair, and his clothes are very, very loose.

Pascal is ambidextrous.

PERSONAL SKILL

Pascal is a merchant by trade, and possesses little to no fighting prowess. He is the sort to manipulate the situation with his words.

SOLO SKILL

- Name: Paradise
- Range: 15 feet
- Influence: Pascal is one that likes to be comfortable, and though he loves being out on the road and peddling his wares, the temperature is often too much to bear. Over time, he spawned this skill that not only kept himself comfortable, but those around him.

Pascal has the Skill called "Paradise," which grants him the ability to manipulate the temperature around him. Pascal himself will always be at a moderate, comfortable temperature. This is something that is self-regulated and auto. It means he can also withstand extreme environments, feeling moderate in the deserts or icy tundras.

He can also change the temperature around himself in that 15 foot radius. He can go as low as 10° F and as high as 100° F. Truth be told, Pascal uses it almost purely for keeping his stock at a good temperature and then to keep his customers comfortable as they browse his caravan shop.

LINK SKILL

Pascal & Rome
- Name: Tether
- Range: 1 mile, binding length: 3 feet, limitless
- Influence: The most inorganic of all the Link Skills, this is something forced onto Rome from Pascal, who preys on the poor boy's psyche and creates an almost Stockholm Syndrome situation. Their Skill a clear representation of bindings, power and dominance; not just of Pascal over Rome, but of how Pascal feels in the situation to Juliette.

Pascal and Rome have the skill "Tether," which creates invisible bindings. The bindings can be attached to the wrists, neck, or both the wrists and neck. The maximum length the invisible binding can go is 3 feet, though they can pass through objects. Meaning if there's a wall between two people and Tether is applied to them, they can still be bound and move around, so long as the 3 feet of slack is there.

One unique feature of their Link Skill that truly represents their chaotic relationship is the fact they have two modes. Control and Berserk.

In Control, there is a one mile radius with a 3 feet maximum range of slack between the two bound. It can also be chosen where the person is bound, by either there wrists, neck or both. They do not necessarily get to choose who gets bound to who. The rule here is that you are bound to whoever is closest to you. When Pascal and Rome are bound together, they actually can surpass the 3 feet rule. It only applies when those two are bound together.

In Berserk, there is no limits anywhere. The distance that Tether can go is limitless, as well as how much slack is given between the persons bound together. They do not get to choose who gets bound to who or how they're bound, either.

These modes teeter on the psyche of the boys at the time. If one or both are pushed too hard, Berserk is active. If both are in a decent mood, then they remain in Control.

About

Pascal is born into a merchant family, and because of the nature of their trade, are one of the very few people allowed to leave Sanctus Halisa. He actually genuinely enjoys it, having a definite goal in mind and almost putting on a play for others, a social and warm persona to draw in customers. A vast difference from his awkward, strange personality.

Pascal spends much time outside the walls of the kingdom, and sometimes the effect of the brainwashing wears down. It's these moments of clarity that he notices something is wrong with his hometown. This causes distress in himself, wondering how many of his thoughts are truly his own. It causes a lot of internal turmoil, a loss of identity, not knowing who he really is.

Because Pascal is out and about often, Queen Juliette chooses him as one of those that must complete her sacrifice. He sets out on his task to find a suitable one, though he seems to be putting his merchant job first and foremost. It's on one of his selling missions that he spots a young man, Rome, performing on the street. He's captivated, and knows this is the person he needs.

NOTABLE MOMENTS IN TIMELINE 1 & 2

Pascal is one of those that must complete the sacrifice, choosing Rome as his own. He slashes Rome's throat, and completes his sacrifice.

NOTABLE MOMENTS IN TIMELINE 3

Pascal is one of those that must complete the sacrifice, choosing Rome as his own. However, he seems to have pushed Rome too far here, and is killed by Rome.

Relationships

Rome Cardello fJycEYL.gif [ "love interest" ]

There is no kind way to say it, this is a very unhealthy relationship. Pascal kidnaps Rome, and teeters between treating him with love and kindness, and then cruelty and abuse. Pascal can't control his confusion, anger, disenchantment, his pure rage. And often takes it out on Rome, who learns that to endure the least amount of pain, to just go along with it. You could say this is an awful case of Stockholm Syndrome in the making. Pascal's lack of help and inner turmoil means that he truly does end up caring and loving Rome, but has desires to control every aspect of Rome and manipulate him.

Owen Ryder 21926272_c0Nl39UjmzhXNYB.gif [ colleague ]

In Timeline 1 and 2, there is little to their relationship other than colleagues. However, in Timeline 3 and beyond, Ryder ends up accompanying Pascal on his adventures. And this is actually a very good turn! Pascal has somebody to bring him back down when his temper wants to flare, and because Ryder can keep Pascal logical, it means there's less needless violence and abuse on his part. Pascal doesn't feel nearly as alone as he did all these years before. You could even say Ryder's fatherly personality is wearing on Pascal, getting attention and structure placed on him that never was before. Ultimately, he does respect Ryder, even if he truly does act like an unruly child from time to time.
