In the expanse of nothing, where the world lay still, The Starmaker opened her eyes and all around her pulsed with the sound of creation.

The main god of my universe, The Starmaker is responsible for the creation of the first utopia - StarCentral, and rules alongside the three demigods of her own creation until her eventual death at the hands of the Toymaster.

CHARISMATIC > Everyone in StarCentral knows, and admires The Starmaker. Though it may be an effect of her godly status, it is clear that The Starmaker is extremely charismatic.

PERFECTIONIST > The Starmaker has a fine eye and will do her best to do everything to her fullest potential, and even beyond. The Starmaker always has a wanting for more than what she can do.

AUTHORITARIAN > The Starmaker has StarCentral wrapped around her finger, and has no tolerance for those who would go against her, as seen when she banishes The Toymaster to The Shadow Place, and locks Andromeda and Nefertiti up in fear of them defying her.

ARROGANT > While The Starmaker loves her children, her position leads to a sometimes patronizing arrogance. She sees other beings as lesser than her, though pitying them greatly instead of being disrespectful. Because of this, she tends to brush problems off easily - of course, she is able to fix anything - she is the creator of the universe, after all.

Notes

  • The Starmaker does have facial definition. She has a rather chiselled face, but her skin is too bright to see.
  • The Starmaker, most preferably, should never be drawn with lineart.
  • Her feet fade into a thick cloud of stars.
  • She can be wearing any sort of gold or black jewelry you wish to draw her with. She switches them up regularly.

MASTERY

The Starmaker is capable of all schools of magic (Creation, Destruction and Manipulation) and is extremely proficient in each school and the practice of combining them.

Creation Magic

Creation magic is the school of magic associated with life-giving. Those practiced in creation magic are able to manipulate the tides of magic and use them to form objects. While most can only form single elements of an object (for example, forming strings of a guitar, tuning pegs, the headstock then the body) the absolute masters of creation magic are able to form fully-made complex items (like an entire guitar). The masters are also able to 'create' souls, pulling them from the tides of magic to insert into a body or create a body around.

Destruction Magic

Destruction magic is the school of magic associated with the material known as void. Those practiced in destruction magic are able to manipulate the tides of magic and use them to swallow objects. While most can only swallow single chunks of an object the absolute masters of destruction magic are able to swallow entire objects, or even people, in one. Few well-practiced destruction users are also able to harness the destructive powers of the void in the form of fire and ice.

Transformative Magic

Transformative magic is the school of magic most associated with healing and shapeshifting. Those practiced in transformative magic are able to manipulate the shape and state of objects by following the pull and push of the magical tides. More novice uses of this magic present themselves in carrying objects, organising, fusing objects together to fix them, etc, those proficient in it have been known to terraform entire mountains with their magic, transform themselves into their ideal shape, for both beauty and strength, or heal those with fatal injuries by placing everything back in its proper place. Highly trained transformative magic users have also been known to use 'necromancy', by puppeting dead bodies, switching souls of two or more people, or removing souls from someone's body.

Summary

Act 1

No one truly knows how The Starmaker was born, or if she was always there to begin with - one day, in the nothing, there was something - a will to live, to thrive. And then there was StarCentral.

With one nod of her head, The Starmaker turned the barren void in front of her into a stretching expanse of light, christened StarCentral. She created 3 others, to rule beside her- the Dreamweaver, Voidstringer and Earthbringer, who she each gave a 'district' to rule over, including her own, the Light District, a shining city crowned in gold in the north-west of StarCentral.

Her first creation was a lady called Song. Song, upon meeting eyes with The Starmaker, was entranced, and devoted herself to serving her creator. The Starmaker, for her devotion, gave her the title of White Lady, and they became close, soon starting a romantic relationship.

Millions of years later, when two of her fellow rulers, the Dreamweaver and the Voidstringer, publicly declared their relationship, The Starmaker became angered, thinking that this would cloud their ability to rule, and in a moment of rage shouted out. Her fury corrupted something inside her - forming a dark, inky black void that cracked along the borders of the districts, creating the Shadow Place, and a suitable scar down her face and body, reflecting the state of her paradise.

Act 2

The Starmaker, assured she need not bother, created her own warrior to fight the monsters arising from the Shadow Place, naming him Karol and granting him a cottage in the very forests.

He did as she expected, and cleared them in impressive times - once he was done, he expected great praise, to be raised high. But he was not. The Starmaker thanked him with a wave of her hand, and Karol became enraged. His fury was quickly dealt with, and he screamed and thrashed as he was escorted out, and eventually banished to the Shadow Place.

StarCentral had a time of peace after this, for hundreds of millions of years.

Act 3

After years of peace, monsters began to arise from the Shadow Place once again. Confident in her tactics, The Starmaker created another new warrior, Andromeda - however, considering how Karol's emotions had led him to vengeance, created her with no emotions, only a goal, and let her loose. Her lacking made her an even better warrior, however during her time she met Karol, now The Toymaster after making a deal with a powerful shadow monster. Andromeda tried to inform The Starmaker, who brushed her off, confident that Andromeda would be able to fend him off herself, though sending in troops herself to ensure there were no troubles.

Once Andromeda was found to be sneaking out of the Shadow Place on dates with her accomplice, Nefertiti, Andromeda's title as Royal Warrior was removed and she was forbidden to enter the Shadow Place again, until The Starmaker's mistress The White Lady was able to put some sense into them. Andromeda informed the Starmaker of the Toymaster once again, and the Starmaker insisted it wasn't a big deal. The Starmaker sent out more troops into the Shadow Place to arrest him, but they, just like the last disappeared.

A few nights after, the Starmaker decided to send out another round of troops, and Andromeda and Nefertiti decided to sneak out with them. They were there in time to see Shadow Monsters and the Toymaster himself barrelling over the land, towards the Starmaker's palace. They ran back to alert the Starmaker, and she called the other Deities of StarCentral to the palace in an emergency meeting. As they all gathered, the Toymaster came into the palace. In the midst of a speech from The Starmaker, she was struck down and shattered into a multitude of fragments of light.

Her remains were used by Nefertiti, channeled into Andromeda's sword of light, and ended The Toymaster's life.

Nefertiti, bearing The Champion's Sword, with the ability to collect and channel light, gathered the Starmaker's Light into the sword. Nefertiti could bleed 'liquid light' and sliced herself, giving the sword enough power to defeat the Toymaster. He was scattered across space, not being seen until after the explosion of StarCentral trillions of years later, at the year 1999 on Earth.

After The Starmaker's death, she went to the Seafoam Cities, a sort of afterlife where souls waited together to be repurposed into new bodies and lives. She was joined there first by the Earthbringer, then the Gods of StarCentral, who were then followed by the citizens of StarCentral then the Starmaker's descendants on the planet Hesio.

Trivia

The Starmaker was originally a cruel matriarch named The Great Loom.

The Starmaker considers the other three gods as siblings, or even children.

Her first design was the result of a shape-language experiment, using circles, squares and triangles. She was made of triangles, which is where I got the idea of a star-shape from. The square character turned into the Voidstringer, and the square character was the Dreamweaver.

Related

7958014?1620193620 The Earthbringer

The deity the Starmaker gets along with the most. Their maturity, and sometimes selfish or ignorant nature makes them a perfect match for trouble. The Earthbringer always seems to agree with what the Starmaker says, which can be a cause for concern when she comes up with less than ideal ideas.

4308576?1627877578 The Voidstringer

While they don't get along as much as The Starmaker and Earthbringer do, The Starmaker does have respect for him despite their disagreements, and sees and appreciates the maturity he has gained.

552845?1616294595 The Dreamweaver

While The Starmaker respects the Dreamweaver's position as a Deity, she has no respect for the way he acts or runs his kingdom and his carefree, childish attitude. She often feels disappointed by him and wishes he were more like the other three deities in terms of perceived maturity.
